A haven of natural beauty in a stunning urban setting.

Situated on Little Mountain, the highest point in Vancouver, this former rock quarry on the site of an extinct volcano has been transformed into a magnificent urban park offering panoramic views of the city.It features a range of spectacular gardens, not least of which is the main Quarry Garden. Set within a massive excavation, the garden presents a dramatic vista when approached from the edge of the park and is home to a wide variety of trees, shrubs and foliage specially chosen for their form and flower. The park is also the site of the magnificent Bloedel Conservatory, one of the most popular attractions in Vancouver. Dedicated to the wonders of the natural world, more than 100 free-flying exotic birds and 500 exotic plants and flowers thrive within the conservatory's temperature-controlled dome. The park's arboretum is home to more than 1,500 species of tree and includes some fine examples of CoastRedwood, one of the tallest trees in the world. The resident arborist organises occasional guided walks which are well worth booking ahead of your visit. The park also features the spectacular Dancing Waters fountain as well as an impressive array of public artwork and sculptures, which you are free to explore at your own pace. For a taste of art in action, head to Painters’ Corner, an outdoor art gallery near the Conservatory where all of the works on sale are produced on-site by the artists. Those keen to work up a sweat can choose from the wide range of recreational activities available in the park such as pitch & putt, bowling, basketball and tennis, all excellent ways of enjoying the natural beauty of the park. The snow-covered slopes of the volcano have also helped establish the park as a spot of choice for winter tobogganing.Queen Elizabeth Park is located in central Vancouver at the junction of Cambie Street and West 33rd Avenue. It is accessible on foot or by bike, car or public transport, and is open all year round.
