"Our stay at this hotel was very enjoyable the food and service was excellent what let it down for us was the room cleaning service same bathroom towels for 3 days no bed made up and no replenish ment of tea coffee and milk in fact i had to walk to the main hotel to ask for milk in pouring rain to get some. So not very happy with the room service at all as we understand that they came every day to service rooms "

"The hotel is in a very central location in the middle of Ambleside however there is no on site parking available. My room was clean and comfortable. I found it difficult to sleep though as the room was really warm and there was a lot of traffic noise early in the morning. Breakfast was very tasty with a good choice and the staff were friendly."

"The Hideaway is located only a 5 minute walk from the village centre and a 20-30 minute walk down to the ferry and all the cafes, pubs and restaurants at Bowness. The room was immaculate and had everything we needed. However, the most memorable feature was the breakfast which was the best we have ever had, the choice was excellent. To top it all there was a choice of home made cake everyday to take with you for your walk. I would definitely stay there again."
