"We were very pleasantly surprised on arriving at the Boutique Hotel. We were warmly greeted with a glass of Prosecco. Our suite was so much better than we had expected. In addition to the bedroom there was a room with a table for meals, a bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and a Sauna. "We stayed at the cottage house which is outside the main building. It was very spacious and has an indoor jacuzzi tub which is why we booked it. The hot water is pre-heated, so it was just enough to fill the tub. There won’t be hot water after if you wanted a shower. Also, an important downside for us was the wifi signal is so weak that neither our phone nor laptops could pick any signal. Was a bit disappointed in that regard as the hotel is aware of the problem but made no effort to fix it....

"What a find! This beautiful hall is just perfect. Fabulous location with peacocks and lovely trails to walk in the extensive grounds. Our room had a super king bed and usual facilities. "Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again. "
