"Clean and well situated Food in hotel was very nice and stay was good value Staff friendly and helpful"

"Room was filthy, dust, dirt and cobwebs. Bathroom smelt like poo. Sink leaked. Entire room smelt of damp. Bed atrocious. The pillows were flat as pancakes and very old. Fridge didn't work. Staff friendly."

"Amazing place to be"

"A friendly and lovely Hotel in the town centre. Great location for a stay or visiting neighbouring towns."

"The staff were the best part of the hotel. Clearly someone is good at hiring. Physically, almost everything was a bit crooked and broken (including the door safety lock in our room, Ashover Suite). The Hamburger was disappointing at £18.50, given that it was clearly a frozen burger and cheap supermarket quality. The room was cold, and we could not figure out how to turn on the radiator, so i slept with my clothes on. The room was nice and grand, and i had a lovely hot bath in the morning. ...

"The hotel was really nice kept clean well looked after. The staff are amazing people very friendly will definitely come back."

"A wonderful stay"

"Historic building full of character, enclosed feel as surrounded by trees, friendly and helpful staff, good food, one nice touch was packed lunch available at no extra cost, even better if more soap etc and more comfortable seats in dining room."

"Pleasant stay …very good room…helpful staff……think could upgrade non cooked breakfast options a little …not too onerous to offer good bread, jams or yoghurt or fruit but evening meals good"
