"Property was serene and peaceful. Rooms were comfortable and really enjoyed our private onsen. Breakfast and dinner were both remarkable."

"The hotel was just magical, from start to finish we loved every minute of HAKONE Setsugetsuka, especially the private Onsen. We also used the bath in our room which was fabulous. Highly recommend this hotel wish is right next to the train station so great if you don't want to walk to far."

"Hotel itself is excellent. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are huge and beds are comfy. In room onsen is barely large enough for 2, but still a nice feature. Public spa area was great when we were there. Had the place to ourselves at 7am. Might be less pleasant when busier. Only downside really was that we were only there for one night and it was heaving with rain. As a result, didn’t really do any of the things we planned. One note, and this is mentioned on the website, there is construction happening right across the river from the rooms. It won’t last forever but might be worth checking in the near term if that’s something that might be of concern."

"A great stay and definitely a highlight of our trip. The food was good but nothing to die for. The highlight was definitely the time away in the private onsen which is bigger than shown. We're 2 people and we fit comfortably."

"It has a quality 4-star feel. We did the 40-minute private onsen and had one in our room. The buffet, including all you can drink, had a good variety of Japanese and Western options. It’s close to the pirate ship and ropeway if interested. Otherwise, it’s remote, but that was important to us. We’ll be back."
