Just a bit disappointed

Pros: We had quite a pleasant meal on one of the nights.
Cons: See experience above.
Location: Good location
This is classed as a 4 star hotel but I would be inclined to see it as a good 3 star. The rate we paid was just slightly higher than we would normally pay at a good 4+ star in Auckland. This hotel is part of the VR chain and we have been disappointed by this chain before. I had to show ID which, being local, I have not been asked for before and my booking did not indicate that this was necessary so I could have easily come without it. We found the bathroom very, very, very small - you could not get 2 people in the space. There were toiletries but no shower cap and of course I'd not brought one! You could only use the full length mirror properly if you moved a little table.

Outdated, no frills

Good location and clean but really needs to be renovated and redecorated--my room was pretty dismal. You can probably do better for your money elsewhere.

Comfortable, Economical, and WOW what a King Bed.

Rupert was very helpful when we arrived early from the USA @ 8 am. He directed us to a comfortable waiting area and we were allowed to check in around 10 am. We fell on the bed and felt relieved to have a safe zone. Valet parking is provided for a fee but is a must as I was told car insurance is not mandatory in NZ. You must get insurance, accidents happen. Whenever we had difficulty with the safe or TV ( For DVDs) someone came straight away. We had a one bedroom apartment and it suited us fine. We certainly didn't go to NZ to stay inside. We were centrally located and had a blast. Thanks Quadrant for making our stay very comfortable.

Great location, fantastic views, but ...

The staff were extremely welcoming and endeavored to rectify our room issue. There was a sickening stench that came from the bathroom whenever we came back to the room and then hung over us as we stayed. It was reported on each of the days we stayed there - first Housekeeping attempted to rid the room of the smell through extra cleaning. This failed. Then Maintenance attempted. Another failure. None of us used the toilet other than to pee - we went downstairs to the gym. This was to try to improve the smell. Maintenance then attempted with The Last Resort chemical - this was a worse smell covering a disgusting smell. We reported the failure yet again as we booked out. The woman on the desk said if she had known that it would not have worked she would have transferred us to another room. That was never an option offered to us. We were told that if it didn't work the Manager would offer another solution. This room cost us nearly $400 a night - for two couples. As we had paid via Expedia there was no offer of a partial refund or adjustment to the bill.

Clean, modern and comfortable

Pros: Modern and clean, large bed and very comfortable. Good air conditioning.
Cons: room service food facilities
Location: it's around a 10 minute walk to the city centre. easy to uber anywhere.
Very nice hotel, has restaurant and bar. Only negative was that there is only pizza and fries available after 11pm through room service.

Awesome location Friendly staff

Great location walking distance to sky tower and the Viaduct. Friendly staff able to assist with an early check in without any hassle. The gym is very limited, Comfortable room. Overall highly recommend and would stay again at The Quadrant

Just Close Enough To The Heart of the City

Pros: Away from Queen Street but still close enough to walk down to the hustle and bustle of the CBD
Cons: Can not think of anything that needed improving
Location: Situated by the Auckland University but still close enough to the City life of Queen Street.
Only needed a room for the night and The Quadrant Hotel & Suites was just enough.
