"Great deal!"
The Salisbury is a comfortable older hotel. The lobby is small and there aren't a lot of frills, but it is very well staffed and everyone was friendly and helpful. We had a room on the 15th floor that was handicapped accessible. The room was large and the bathroom was really nice. It had been fully updated. There was a small refrigerator and a little sink (except the water in it didn't work-unless there was a special way to turn it on that escaped me). It was very hot in the room for my taste, so I turned on the air conditioner-- which didn't help. I imagine that since it is February the air conditioners haven't been serviced yet.....anyway, I enjoyed my stay at the Salisbury and if we return to NYC I would definitely consider staying there again.

"Fantastic location NYC"
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the last 10 years. It's location is fab, you are walking distance to Times Square, Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Macy's, Empire State Building and The Rockefeller Centre. The hotel provides a good breakfast buffet and there are endless dining options within a 10 minute walk from the hotel in the evenings. The rooms have a fridge and microwave within the kitchenette which means you don't always have to eat out. The staff were more than helpful and were always polite and friendly.

"fabulous modern budget hotel option"
During the off-season (US winter), you can stay here for less than $100 USD/night (tax included) in a single (1 person) bed room. In contrast, hostels in NYC with *shared* bathrooms run around $50-75/night during the off season, so by spending only $30 more, you get your own modern (but small) room with its own bathroom. Reminds me a bit of futuristic movies where humans live in functional, small spaces in high rise buildings together (i.e. Code 46). Also, you can store your luggage for the day for free (but should tip the hotel porter at drop off and pick-up), which most hostels charge $5 for the day. My room was on the 15th floor and had zero outside street noise, which is also a concern with most buildings in NYC that are under 5 stories tall. Within 1 block of the hotel, you have many deli/food options. Bryant Park and the subway is a 10 min. walk. The immediate vicinity is high end due to the many investment banks on Lex/Park/Madison, so you will come across many international bankers in suits. After business hours, the area is more 'dead' since workers have gone home. I never heard any noise from people staying in adjacent room, only the cleaning woman. I advise using your 'do not disturb' sign if you stay in your room past 10 am, otherwise you may get a loud knock. I left my room one day around 1pm and when I came back at night, they had cleaned, which was nice. The concierge was particularly helpful one night when I was trying to locate a service.

"Conveniently located clean hotel"
Hotel is conveniently located near times square and central park. Huge lobby very clean. We arrived around midnight and we're pleased to have our room upgraded to a double double. The room was huge with a second bedroom. Very clean. Plenty of linens and toiletries. My only complaint was that the heater made a crazy loud clanking noise every time it turned on during the night. It woke all of us up several times. We were also on the 6th floor facing 7th ave. we could hear some street noise but it wasn't too bad. The heater was by far more annoying. Valet parking was very affordable. We usually use spot hero for the best rates, but the hotel rate was the better deal.

"Best hotel experience"
From checkin to check out all was great. My room was available immediately. The continental breakfast was fresh and delicious. My room was cleaned in a timely manor. The staff was friendly and helpful. We even left a charger in the room after we left and it was reported and brought to the front desk for pick up!

"Great hotel!"
After initially being disappointed with our room as there was absolutely no storage for clothes, we really enjoyed our stay here. We got moved to another room which was modern and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the standard of cleanliness was exceptional - it was lovely to return home to our room at the end of each day to an immaculately made up room.

"Stylish and functional boutique"
The larger rooms are very comfortable and we'll designed, though I understand some rooms are very small. Location is great for Baruch, Flatiron, and Murray Hill. Staff were attentive and breakfast was small but with high quality baked items and whole fruit.
