"Perfect hotel in a perfect location!"
We stayed at Distrikt Hotel for four nights for our first wedding Anniversary. We were greeted by friendly staff and a bell boy to take our bags to our room. We were on the 31st floor in a King Grand View Room. Although the Expedia website stated views of the Empire State Building, we were on the wrong side of the hotel, however, the views were still fab! The room was a little noisy with the windows open as you would expect staying so close to Times Square however once the windows were closed the room is well sound proofed from outside noise. The hotel welcomed us with an arrival letter and chocolate brownie. On the second evening we received a lovely little cup cake and note to celebrate out Anniversary and on Thanksgiving we received a Turkey shaped cookie! The hotel was very clean and the room was presented well, although a little on the small side as you would expect in a City location. The happy hour in the bar downstairs was a nice little touch with free nibbles. The only negative would be there was no discounts on the cocktails during happy hour! We could not fault the staff for their professionalism and knowledge of the City. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a central location, close to Times Square!

The hotel is in a good location..easy walking distance to many NYC spots. Lots of street bums near the Port Authority. That was my only complaint.

Nice hotel. Well maintained. Nice tile in bathrooms. Quiet location. Only room with two beds was near elevator. Too much noise in the early morning from people using it.

"Right smack in the middle of things happening."
We wanted to be close to everything and this hotel is. Our room was large for New York standards. The breakfast though simple was great and fresh. The hotel staff was very helful and quick in problem solving (especially when a guest lit a candle right underthe smoke alarm). The e-train stops right on the corner of the block and takes you to airport and WTC without need of transfer. the hotel has no bar nor a restaurant but in the area there is a wide variety of restaurants for any budget.

"It's a lovely Hotel near Madison Sq. Park. "
We went in and were greeted by the front desk. They were very helpful when asked about places to go. we asked for the highest level to get the room with the least street noise possible - they made it happen. The room is very cozy and cute. My husband would say the bed was small but it's only because we have a king at home - plus it's NYC, it's expected. Overall the hotel is great! I've stayed with Triump at BellaClaire before and love it as well.

"Great Boutique Hotel Near Little Italy, Chinatown"
After some recent reviews, I was hesitant about my upcoming stay at the Sohotel. However, I'm happy to report that I had a pleasant one-night stay. I took a taxi from LaGuardia Airport, and had the driver take the Williamsburg Bridge as Google Maps stated it was the quickest route. I arrived within 35 minutes and paid $40 with tip. I was greeted at the hotel by Singh, who took my bag and showed me up to the lobby. As others have pointed out, this is a very old building (built in 1808) and does not have elevators. I didn't find this to be an issue but I only had one carry-on bag. I arrived 10 minutes prior to scheduled check-in so my room was not ready. Instead of having me wait, I was upgraded to a bigger room - free-of-charge. The room had two double beds and one twin. Everything was clean. There was full size shampoo, conditioner and shower gel bottles in the shower. There was also complimentary travel size toothpaste and lotion in the bathroom. I was told there was construction going on until 5 pm but I didn't mind the noise. At night, there was very little street noise but the pipes were rather loud, and woke me up twice. Checkout was quick and simple. I had an event to attend between checkout and my flight, but the hotel gladly stored my bags as well as scheduled a car to pick me up when I returned. Overall, a great experience.
