"On the West Cliffs with a lovely view of the sea and the harbour from our third floor room (the stairs were tiring after a long day!). Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. For £3 the guest house can provide a parking card valid for four days in Whitby. We had no trouble parking in the street around the corner."

"Couldn’t fault my stay here at all. Great location and everything you could want or need except food was included. It was so comfortable I didn’t want to leave. Was there during a storm which gave me problems with the boiler, phoned a Fiona and within 15 mins Martyn was there to sort it along with 2 ready-mixed g&t’s as an apology. Wasn’t needed but a lovely touch. Yes would definitely stay here again."

"There was 7 ladies celebrating a 50th birthday, this accommodation was perfect, very clean, everything you could think of that you would need for a weekend or even if you were there longer, the accommodation was exactly like the pictures showed. We are a family of five and there was plenty of room in the lounge for us all to sit together on the big settee. The house is situated in a great location, near to the town, not far from the seafront, just great for walking anywhere really. There's a parking space at the house, which is a big bonus. "Beautiful apartment. Great location, fun to see the trains right by your window, excellent secure underground garage parking. Highly recommended. We also visited Eden Camp, Alpamare water park and had a walk up to Whitby Abbey. These were all fantastic locations to visit. Lovely part of the country."

Cottage in the centre of Whitby - beautiful coastal and Abbey views

"Accessible to the centers of Whitby and all the restaurants and piers.Enjoyed the facilities, only issue is the vacuum cleaner provided was clogged with dusts unemptied from previous guests and we had to unclog the dust bags to ensure effective vacuuming."
"The hotel is in a great location, high up, with great views of the Abbey and the town. There are steps up to the hotel from the town or you can walk up the road (Khyber Pass). There is limited onsite parking which needs to be booked in advance. Room 2 was clean and had a new carpet and bed. It was quite a large room with a sea view. At the time of our visit (Sept. 2025), there was a lot of noisy work being done on hotel improvements, but this will only improve the hotel for future guests. The staff were very helpful and we would definitely stay here again."
"We had a very nice stay at The Esklet Guest House. The owner met us on arrival and gave a very clear instruction on the parking arrangements. It is on street parking, the owner gave us a parking disc for the first night and also a permit for the following two days. Very useful to have clear instruction rather than be left to figure it out yourself.
The accomodation was a large ground floor room. Very clean and comfortable. There is no breakfast as was made clear on the booking, but there is something wrong if you can't find a decent breakfast in Whitby!
All in all we were very pleased with The Esklet and would be happy to stay again next time we visit Whitby.
