"The hosts Phillip and Dee could not do enough for us, they were very friendly. The room was lovely and clean and refills of tea, coffee, biscuits etc provided outside the rooms for guests to help themselves to.
The breakfasts we had were amazing, plenty of choice and beautifully cooked.
There’s a bus to Whitby just near the house and many other places to visit nearby."
"The hotel is in a great location, high up, with great views of the Abbey and the town. There are steps up to the hotel from the town or you can walk up the road (Khyber Pass). There is limited onsite parking which needs to be booked in advance. Room 2 was clean and had a new carpet and bed. It was quite a large room with a sea view. At the time of our visit (Sept. 2025), there was a lot of noisy work being done on hotel improvements, but this will only improve the hotel for future guests. The staff were very helpful and we would definitely stay here again."
"This is the second time at The Witching Post inn. We love the location.. easy to get to Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hood bay and Goathland. Pete and his team were great hosts and looked after us.
