Thank you for taking time to leave a review and glad you had a nice stay at the beach. Blimey - that BBQ is not even a year old! Ocean-side living certainly takes its toll!

Thanks for your feedback. Apologies about the cot being tucked away but there is actually a local number you could have called which is listed in the information sheet you were given before your stay. That person would have been able to tell you very quickly where the cot was. Also a real shame (and a first!) about the towels. The previous guest used 32 towels during their stay which only left about 10 for your party of 8 which I agree was not enough. I will ensure this never happens again. In terms of the boogie boards they were always an add on and not really factored in to the tariff. Unfortunately people who used them did not return them which has ruined it for everyone as these will no longer be made available. The house is a well lived in kiwi bach with not a lot of modern gadgetry (apart from the SONOS) but we do try to ensure that it has everything one needs for a great holiday including comfortable beds and lots of kitchen things. Hi Sandra. Thank you for the feedback. I'm sorry you had the issue with the shower but the report from the plumber is that there is no leak. He pointed out the rubber seal on the door had been inexplicably removed, but said this would not have caused a flood. He spent quite a bit of time testing it and came to the conclusion that the shower rose must have been pointed directly at the door instead of the wall and that is how the water got out. The missing seal would not have helped and I can only apologise for that - it is honestly quite baffling the things people do while renting the house, and a missing shower door seal is not something easily picked up by the cleaner. There are actually three showers on the property but perhaps it was too cold to use the beach shower room? With regards to the rubbish recycling, the kerbside general rubbish collection only comes once a week. Glass and food comes once a fortnight. I'm sure no one would be very happy to arrive at their holiday accomodation to find bins full of rubbish left by the previous guest. The drive to the Athenree Recycling Centre is five minutes from the house. However, in the property information it does say we can take your rubbish (for a fee) if you are unable to make that drive. Finally the house is a bach. If it was a modern build house with all the latest gadgets, the tariff would reflect that. We strive to make sure that all the beds are comfortable and there is everything you need for a classic kiwi bach holiday on the beach. Thanks so much for your feedback. We haven't been able to get to the beach house for quite some time due to Covid, so there are bound to be a few little things that need looking at. Thanks for the headsup - will get our trusty handyman to look at those things. A handrail is a very good idea too and something we have talked about before.
