"The quality and friendliness of this hotel was up to its usual high standards. Good choice for breakfast, full English was tasty and filling. The only downside we found was the bar, poor service, selection of cocktails and some prices were expensive. To the point we found a lovely friendly wee pub 5 minutes from the hotel and chose to go there instead for drinks."

"The hotel is located just out the Railway Station Door. We were able to drop our bags, as we arrived earlier in the day. Convenient to see the Cathedral & Castle. Staff was very helpful, I take a medicine that must be refrigerated and they stored it for me. The real problem is the There is no A/C. Our room had the full afternoon sun and was over 80 degrees. "This was a fantastic find for an overnight stay on our way to Glasgow, wish we could have stayed longer and explored the lake and surrounding areas. The bar and restaurant were very good and the couple who were managing the pub at the time of our stay were excellent hosts. There is plenty of parking and this very old pub has very modern rooms. Would defiantly recommend and stay again. "
