Pooley Bridge is a very small village nestled at the top of Ulswater. It has 3 public house & a couple of small shops. The crown Inn is perfectly placed by the river & in the thick of the village. The only downside is parking a busy sunny days! Staff at the Inn were very pleasant & helpful

The room was a very good size, very clean with coffee and tea provided. Breakfast was very generous and excellent quality, we had an evening meal on our first night which was also very good. Thoroughly recommend a stay here as it’s also very close to Ullswater with its beautiful scenic views. I have dropped one star as the parking outside the hotel is a bit hit and miss as it’s also used for the surrounding pubs and shops. However there is a public car park a short walk over Pooley Bridge.
