"Brookside is a great place for a quiet family break with a dog (or without!). The rooms are good sized and there is an abundance of pots, cutlery and glassware. It’s also well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.The bonus for Brookside is its location overlooking the village green, good for walking the dog - on a lead because of grazing sheep and lambs. Within 20 minutes you can be in Appleby and slightly longer to Penrith. It’s also good if you are attending a wedding at Holesfoot (as we were) which is 5 minutes drive away.Would we go to Brookside again? Yes, definitely!"

The beds were very comfy and plenty of storage for your clothes.We had a lovely card and a bottle of wine waiting for us, thank you.There were a few dead flys and some still flying around the rooms. We did use fly spray and there was a fly zapper.One suggestion would be to have some leaflets or a welcome book from other guests. Also a book to tell you emergency numbers."
