"We had a lovely night here. The hotel is really clean with lots of character & beautiful gardens. Our room was cosy, the bed was really comfy & the shower was hot! Plenty of teas& coffees to use & good quality toiletries too. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice of hot food cooked to order & a good assortment of cereals., yogurts & top quality fresh fruits. Thecstaff were all very friendly & helpful. It was a 5 minute walk into Bowness or the lake. Can definitely recommend this hotel. "

It didn’t cool as much as we would like for a wife that gets hot flashes & being used to keeping your body cool at night for best sleeps (we Americans love our AC.) had to open small upper corner windows at night, but they are behind closed blinds for privacy and difficult to get the cold air into the room. Charming hotel and bedrooms, one issue is that water was dropping in the bedroom from the ceiling, from time to time. I notified the reception so I hope they fixed the issue. "

At time of booking it sais 2 double beds and was only one double to then be allocated a room with 2 double beds and had to pay extra £15 for the 2 children this is a failt with expedia and not the property as at time of booking it stated 2 double beds !!!
