"Great stay and great staff. Food great with gluten free options. Would have scored 100% on everything but bed not great, too low to floor and poor quality matress?"
"Ran by a wonderful couple who are really friendly and accommodating. The lodge is in a beautiful location and the facilities and room are lovely.
Breakfast was included and we were asked beforehand what we wanted so it would be ready for the time we requested. And it tasted wonderful.
Me and my girlfriend have visited here twice now and I'd greatly recommend a stay here."
"Lovely room clean and tidy
friendly helpful staff . Then best steak and ale pie we have had
Only thing was poached eggs on both days where overcookrd at breakfast .
We would stay again "
"Great hotel with everything you need on site. The Holmes Mill beer hall and food hall are excellent with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Short walk the the town which has lots of options for eating and drinking too "
"Lovely historic building and grounds in a peaceful location. The restaurant food is excellent and very good value for money. The tudor main hall with a gallery is very impressive. The staff were professional and accommodating.
The only thing I found a little odd is the bedroom and corridor decor which isn't in keeping with the rest of the building and in need of some refurbishment especially the carpet. However this would not stop me returning or recommending this hotel. "

"The staff at the hotel were brilliant, especially the gentleman in the bar area during the late night period and his colleague on the front desk for the same period. Overall the property was clean, safe, welcoming and our stay was really enjoyable."
"Our first impresdion of the reception area was WOW. Beautiful venue with breathtaking grounds. Lovely sun terraces and fantastic restaurant with amazing food. Would recommend. We had an evening meal which was superb and Breakfast was great too. Spa area small but nice enough for a relaxing dip in the pool and steam room, sauna and very small gym but enough for me. My only disappointment was that our room was a club room and accessed via a path to an annexe which did not have the same WOW factor as the main building. The room was very big with large bathroom, large lounge with couch and separate dressing area which was a nice touch and although it had been decorated recently and clean i just had the feeling that it was a bit tired. The furniture was old and the bathroom was very tired and needs to be fully updated. Bed was very soft and bouncy but slept ok. Just loved the place and sad the room was not so first class as the rest of the hotel. Having said that it was acceptable for what we paid."
"We booked the rooms to be close to the hopsital. Perfect location for visiting family
Confy beds,
Just not enough towels in the family room,
Had to get a extra towel out of a relatives room
Other than that, it was a comfortable stay"
