This small wharf on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in the civil parish of Altham, Lancashire is the site of the former Moorfield Colliery. It opened around 1880 and mining continued until 1949.

Dunkenhalgh Hotel, nr Rishton. Former Elizabethan mansion in 16 acres gardens and woodland. Was owned by Petre family. Much altered in 19thC. Name possibly derived from Scottish raider Duncan??
