There are many great things about this hotel - it is in a good location in a quiet street near the centre, and our room (we had booked a deluxe) was large and well provided, with twin beds pushed together, desk, table, tv, minibar, easy chairs, even a small sofa. The air-conditioning worked well and you could open the windows. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and there was even a teapot for your tea. Sure the hotel was showing it's age a little but we live in an old house and don't mind that. Our room was reasonably priced.
However, what I did mind was the state of the matresses - they were terrible. Unyielding and lumpy - I could feel the springs. I did ask them to do something about this, and the matress may have beeen turned, but it was scarcely any better. I hope that not all the rooms have the same problem, as we had a great stay in Vienna otherwise.
This was an excellent stay, very warm and helpful reception.the hotel is near to all atractions and the under ground metro station is only two minutes walking. I recommend this hotel to every one who would like to enjoy Vienna with a very fair accomodation cost.
A very small room, but I didn't spend much time there. One night a large family whose children couldn't settle down kept me awake. I asked to change my room, and the proprietor said the only one available would be on the street and more noisy. It was.
So ask for a room not facing the street!
