"Gorgeous views, right on the beach "
We came here for our honeymoon. The hotel has so much history, and is one of the original hotels in Waikiki, but you can't tell with all the upgrades. The staff is super friendly and its within walking distance to a lot of shopping. Our hotel room was right next door to the elevator, but I couldn't hear it at any time. The room was always cleaned on time. We hung around the beach but mostly the pool area since it's the only place you can drink.

"Great experience"
Hotel is conveniently located for many activities on the island, including the beach, Pearl Harbor and Honolulu tours, shopping, dining, etc. and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. We did have a problem with the concierge which told us the bus pick up location for the Pearl Harbor tour had changed due to a parade (pick up time was 6 am so it seemed a bit questionable). In fact the location had not changed and we missed the bus to Pearl Harbor at 6 am. Thankfully, we were able to get on the 8:30 am tour but it significantly impacted our planned activities for our short stay.

"Great Location"
We have stayed at this hotel 3 times and I have stayed at other Waikiki hotels and other Hawaii 5 star hotels on the most of the other islands. This is one of the best. We have only stayed in the older building. The location is excellent. There are good restaurants and shopping within walking distance and, of course, it is right on the beach. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The hotel is beautiful but some parts appear dated and worn. Some of the staff lack enthusiasm and there always seems to be a wait at the check in desk and for the concierge. The beach service desk staff was hit and miss with some being less than helpful. The service at the Mai Tai bar is a little slow but the restaurant is good. This last time, we very much enjoyed the Luau at the hotel although it is a little spendy. The food and show are excellent. Compared to other luxury hotels, and for the cost, I would expect the staff to be a little more helpful and the facilities to be kept up a little better. At the same time, you can't beat the location and it is otherwise a very nice hotel. I'm sure we will stay here again.

"The hotel was clean and tidy"
a chair was something that was not in the room this would have been nice to have one, the bar restaurant below Lu Lu's was very nice and enjoyed a beautiful meal in there it is right at the end of the shopping area and plenty of shops, i could not fault the hotel staff they were very nice and nothing was a problem to them we had a blown globe in the bathroom on telling the front desk this was fixed in 5 minutes a maintenance person changed the globe

Inexpensive option for Wakiki with parking for only $25/night. But I think I was the only English speaking guest. Everyone else was from Japan. The hotel staff all remembered my name during a one night stay because it was the only non-japanese one. Pods of 10-15 Japanese tourists jammed the lobby 24/7

"Fantastic place to stay!"
My husband and I recently spent 11 enjoyable nights at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel. From the very beginning Travis, at the front desk made us feel very welcome. He gave us information regarding restaurants, sights, directions, and tourist attractions. The other staff members were just as friendly and accommodating as Travis. This was our second extended stay at the Queen Kapiolani. After visiting other hotels on Waikiki we wouldn't want to book any place else. We had a great room with a view of Diamond Head and the beach. Very comfortable bed, excellent location, nice pool area (though we didn't use it very much), and beautiful "old world charm" in a modern hotel. We're looking forward to our next trip to Honolulu and the Queen Kapiolani.
