We stayed for 4 days and 4 nights. Everyone at the Hotel was very accommodating, friendly and great. I actually left my wallet at the lobby bar one night and the bartender turned it in, the front desk personnel left me a very nice note under my door that night that they had turned it into security and that I could pick it up the next morning.
The location was great to access all areas of New York City and the food in both restaurants was tremendous.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Wellington. The location was perfect. The room was cozy. The beds were comfortable. We had no trouble getting a cab, and there is a subway entrance literally right outside.
This is the second time we have stayed at The Edison, the hotel is very clean and the rooms are a good size. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was lovely and warm. Great location, 2 minutes from Times Square. Will definitely stay again.
We enjoyed our stay at The Manhattan at Times Square. It was close to most everything we wanted to do -- see the lighting of the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, shopping, going to the Today program, seeing the store windows on Fifth Avenue. Checking in was easy and pleasant and the staff was quick to change our room when the first room smelled quite strong of cigarette smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. We stored our luggage upon check-out so that we could do some more sightseeing but it was quite a lengthy wait when we returned to retrieve our luggage and head to the airport. The reason we were given was that a lot of people stored their luggage so they had to go through several rooms to find ours. Otherwise, we have no complaints. I loved their pouches they give you for filtered water. We could fill them up and take them with us for the day.
Great value for money with good breakfasts included, and reception with free wine and nibbles Monday to Thursday. Coffee available all day. Very helpful and friendly staff. The kitchenette with microwave, fridge/freezer, 2 hot rings and dishwasher is really useful if you do not always want to eat out. Location is excellent - close to the Port Authority for buses and subway. Easy walk to Times Square, Broardway and theatres.
This is a great hotel. Staff are always courteous, make you feel very welcome and are always happy to help. They pointed out where all the useful places of interest were to us within 5 minutes of our arrival which was incredibly useful to two newbies to New York such as ourselves.
Rooms are spacious, clean and very upmarket. Beds are huge and very comfortable. We had a well stocked mini bar, tea and coffee machine which was always restocked every day and room service was excellent. There was also a room safe which was free to use, a large flat-screen TV on the wall and chocolates and weather updates left out for our return at the end of each and every day. The shower and bathroom as a whole was very spacious and enjoyable. Each room has its own air conditioning which is easily controlled and very effective. On the days it rained the porter offered us a free umbrella to take out which was a lovely touch!
The hotel is literally two minutes away from all local bus and subway lines and it's a 5 minute wander to Times Square and Broadway. It's bang in the centre of Manhattan Island and makes it really easy to get around to where you need to be.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and I will certainly be returning next year!

Pod is very clear on its website about what it provides: the amenities you need for a comfortable stay at an affordable price, with not much excess space. For us it was perfect: the (queen size) bed was very comfortable and we got a good night's sleep, the shower (not shared) was powerful and warm and the room was (relatively) quiet. For storage there was enough underbed space to tidy away our stuff, and a couple of coat hangers for the few things that needed hanging. There was room to walk around the bed, but not much more - but this was as advertised. The location was great: only a short walk from Grand Central Station.
There's also some nice communal spaces, including a lovely roof terrace, which didn't seem to be advertised in the lobby so it was pretty deserted (probably because it was the middle of Winter so the bar was closed). However, there was an inside room too that was cozy and very nicely decorated - we went up there one night and were pretty much the only ones up there. Great views out over New York.
