I stayed at the Wellington Hotel for three nights with my eighteen year old son and we both found the facilities and comfort very good for the price. the proximity to all the major sightseeing attractions was perfect and within walking distance. I would recomend this hotel to anyone who is within a modest budget as it provides all you could want.
My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights over Columbus day weekend. The hotel is still very new and as a result still has hoarding up at front so when you first get there it isn't easy to spot. The hotel lobby is not on the ground floor but is easy to find as lift has a hotel lobby button. Other than ground floor and hotel floor you need your room key to gain access to the floors where rooms are located. we stayed in a queen room on the 35th floor. The room was relatively small which is pretty standard for New York and was cleaned daily . The bed was very comfortable and extra pillows were provided. Each room has its own thermostat to cool or warm room as required. The room had a large flatscreen tv with lots of channels, a microwave, coffee machine, fridge, safe, iron and hairdryer and wifi included in price. There is also a bar and restuarant in the hotel. Staff were very helpful and polite. The location of this hotel literally could not be any better as a base for exploring New York. It is a stones throw from times square with a subway station next door. Rockefeller center, grand Central, Macy's, magnolia bakery, Empire State building are within easy walking distance as is the circle line water taxi and open top bus for exploring the city. I would highly recommend this hotel for travellers to New York.

I was very disappointed in the room that I received, the view was of a brick building, the room it self was dark and very dreary. The air conditioning had to be turned off by maintenance, it was so cold in the room. The bathroom shade would not go up and when housekeeping came in did not fix it. There was not enough light in the room we had to ask for more lamps. The beds were great, the service was great, but unless you change the lighting in the rooms I can not return, it was very depressing.
Pod 39 is a cute and pleasant surprise. The units are new, fresh, modern, and clean. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the spacious bathroom and rain shower head!!! The location is perfect and is steps to major tourist attractions and Grand Central Station. The only thing I would hope they invest in are better towels. The towels were small and thin. I would need 4 of them to dry me off after the shower. But this was a small thing compared to the friendly staff, clean amenities, and modern suites that Pod 39 offers. I would definitely stay here again!!!
We visited this hotel at the beginning of October for a girls weekend away. Immediately on arrival we were all very pleased with our choice, the location was amazing just a couple of minutes walk from Times Square and very close to all of the shops. The reception team were very friendly and helpful and dealt with our check in promptly and efficiently. We then made our way to our room. Our room had 2 double beds, a desk, a kitchenette and shower room with toilet sink and very large shower. We were really impressed and the view from our window was beautiful. The breakfast in the morning was always good comprising of bagels, filled muffins, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt and tea and coffee. This could be eaten either on the ground floor or taken up to your room. We were also told by the hotel staff about the terrace on level 40, AMAZING! We went up there to see the city by night and the view was beautiful including the Empire State Building. On the lower level there was a fitness room and launderette which we didn't use but looked brilliant. There was also an area with computers and a printer on the ground floor which were free to use. The rooms were cleaned and the sheets and towels were changed everyday. The whole hotel was clean and tidy and every member of staff were always very polite and really helpful. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely rebook if I were ever lucky enough to return to New York.
Just returned from a two night stay at Pod 51 on east 51st and 2nd. Great hotel room was plenty big enough with space to put all my stuff out. No issues with wifi and great to be able to dock my music. Subway is really close and you can get a free map of the subway from the station. Shouldn't take more than 20m to walk to 5th avenue and it's basically turn left out of the hotel and keep walking! Staff at the hotel were fabulous really helpful nothing was any trouble. Treehaus one block up is a good breakfast option but there's plenty of choice really close by. Yes the rooms are smaller but really if you're staying in the room all day you're probably not in the right city!! Will definitely stay here again
This was my first stay at this hotel in Manhattan. I arrived early in the morning of my check in day. I wanted to drop my bags off before I began my busy day. The front desk staff was very attentive. Once my luggage was secured I was invited to grab breakfast in the back. This made my day especially after a red-eye flight. Once I checked in later in the day I was greeted by a clean and inviting room with a great view of the city from the 20th floor. I had no issues with the heating/cooling or bathroom facilities. All of my interactions with staff over the next three days were courteous and with smiles. And as always the breakfasts rocked.
