Good location close to the Minster. Room was on the main road side of the building, but we'll sound proofed.
Some noise from the bar, but this is expected in a pub.
Problem with loss of hot water pressure on the final morning was irritating, but these things happen.
Clean and comfortable.
We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on the food.
Overall, a fantastic City centre location and lovely staff.
I stayed in the York Theatre room which meant I could hear all of the traffic outside (busy road) - it didn’t affect my stay as I live in a city and am used to noise but perhaps not for those who want a quiet location
The reason for my overall score of 4 is that the WiFi didn’t work for the entirety of my two-night stay. This had a direct knock-on impact on the work I was meaning to do during my visit. The hotel team did everything they could to try and resolve the situation, and there was the option of BT WiFi (around £7-8 per day) if the hotel WiFi is down, but it was a niggle.
Nice comfortable, located in the heart of York.
Easy access to a nearby convenience store and city attractions.
The room was very clean. I loved the oat biscuits, tea and water provided for hotel guests.
