Great breakfast and grounds.

Car parking proved to be a challenge, but not insurmountable given the fantastic location. The decor of this Tudor building greatly enhanced the setting.

We stayed here for one evening on a trip through the south west of England. It was a great spot to base ourselves in Dartmouth and walking distance to restaurants, main shopping and the harbourside. Plenty of good options about and well located.

Really enjoyed our stay the only issue was that the room did not have an exterior window so fresh air was minimal though it did have air conditioning. Staff were excellent friendly and helpful in every way. Hotel has a great location

The hotel is only about a year old so the building and all the fittings and furniture are in as-new condition. The staff were all cheerful and a delight to work with. The food was good both breakfast and the evening meals. The location right on the foreshore is attractive with lovely views of the sunrise but it is well away from the centre of Torquay. When I arrived Google maps had the location 300 metres too close to the main part of Torquay so you need to check this before setting a route.

Great out of the way pub

Lovely location

Great staff for breakfast

Absolutely beautiful property! We stayed for one night and enjoyed a lovely meal at the onsite restaurant, the extremely comfortable room and bed, and the generous breakfast cooked to order the following morning. I highly recommend this property.

Charterhouse was warm and welcoming. Staff went out of their way to ensure we were taken care of.

Our stay was amazing! Hosts Claire and Steve were fantastic, friendly, cooked a plentiful, scrumptious breakfast, and nothing was too much trouble! They had a wealth of local knowledge which was very handy. Our room was extremely clean, and our bed was very comfy! We were recently married and our hosts left a beautiful bottle of red wine and a card in our room which was so thoughtful:) we will definitely be staying at The Clifton on Paignton when in England next.

This property is 10/10 for everything. Location, staff, rooms and the food. A truly lovely experience.

Really good place . Very friendly and convenient. Bathroom just a tad small but overall a good place to stay . Great service
