"We recently stayed at the Fairmont Miramar and while the property itself is beautiful and the location is great, our experience started off very uncomfortable. Shortly after checking into our room, housekeeping entered without knocking while my daughter had just gotten out of the shower and was sitting on the bed wrapped in a towel. Thankfully I noticed in time before he fully walked in, but it was still very upsetting and embarrassing. He then asked when we were leaving, which made the situation even more awkward. Privacy and basic courtesy are extremely important when staying at a hotel, especially with children present. I understand mistakes can happen, but this definitely impacted the start of our stay. I do want to mention that after informing management about the incident, they were apologetic and credited $150 back to my stay, which I appreciated. Also, just a heads up for future guests: be prepared for the incidental hold to be around $300 per night, and valet parking is currently $79 per night, so those extra costs can add up quickly. Aside from the incident, the staff was generally polite and the hotel amenities and location were very nice. I just hope management reinforces privacy procedures with housekeeping staff moving forward."

"Charming and cozy retreat especially while my husband was in the hospital. Only 4 blocks away. Comfortable and quiet has a lovely residential craftsman style appeal. Low calm lighting, noise quieting machine, free filtered water in glass…my favorite. Great coffee in the morning. Right across the street from Tartine and lovely bakery. Only complaints, my room 209 has a leaky shower… so wet slippery floor every shower. Also if they could replenish the half and half more it had run out 2 of my 4 mornings. Lovely staff , secure parking and charging for electric vehicles. Lovely patio and side yard with an outdoor fireplace. You do need to request housekeeping so keep that in mind. "
