You're pretty close to great restaurants and shops (about a half mile - walk or Uber). They recommended Gris Gris and it was great - we ate their twice in 3 days. Finally, the breakfasts were superb. "Everyone in New Orleans is nice The house is a "shotgun" so the living room is first followed by walk thru bedrooms X 2 then the kitchen and baths. My party had no issues with this but if someone is very shy they may take offense. There is a great diner on the corner run by the lovely Fatma, Fabulous coffee. My only suggestion is to add a hook or two in the smaller bathroom. I would definitely recommend this property"

"First of all - the hotel staff. Every one of them was super sweet, always with a BIG smile and super proactive - if they noticed you looking like something was on your mind or you needed anything they were there to offer help before you ever needed to ask. I honestly don't think I opened a lobby door for myself all week! They were always ahead of our needs. We booked the Presidential Suite but upon arriving realized that while it was HUGE and BEAUTIFUL it wasn't a great match for us and they effortlessly moved us to a Bourbon facing loft suite with a giant balcony. And seriously without any drama - just done! The concierge was amazing! The elevators, while old, were never a wait and were really smooth and fast. The location was PERFECT for us - it's been about 6 years since last visiting New Orleans and this place hit that sweet spot of being right on Bourbon, but down at the slower, quieter end - you got all the fun people watching and music but a little less intense. Bed was super comfy. We missed the GIANT spa tub in the original room but it was still worth the move to a Bourbon balcony room! Again - all about the staff - day and night they were all amazing! Oh and between the wooden shutters and the heavy pullback drapes the noise from Bourbaon was minimal. I was expecting it to be loud - and prepared for it - but it honestly wasn't! A hundred great restaurants, jackson square, the Marigny all within an easy short walk - this hotel was PERFECT for us!"
