Charming, classy establishment in a quiet safe area that was conveniently located to the event centers
Local transportation is easily accessible
The staff was highly accommodating and friendly
Definitely recommend this New Orleans jewel
The staff was absolutely lovely! From the moment I was greeted at the door, to the wonderful breakfast, to the quiet, peaceful morning. It was a great place to breath and relax before stepping into the bustle of the city.
We will never come to New Orleans and stay anywhere other than the Terrell House! Everything about the experience was superb - the scrumptious breakfasts, the elegant house and comfortable room. But what makes Terrell House is the staff, always friendly, helpful and "like family."
All staff were super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing! Still thinking about the grillades and pineapple dessert on our last morning. House was beautiful in a great area. Able to walk to a nice coffee shop and a little longer walk to get to restaurants and street car. Highly recommend this gem.
My mother and I had a wonderful stay at the Terrell house during Mardi Gras in 2025. We stayed for 6 days and 7 nights, so we did a lot of research before we book for a longer stay like this, and we landed on Terrell because of its location, interiors, and included breakfast. All of these aspects exceeded our expectations. For location, we were able to walk 5 minutes to St Charles where the parade is, 15 minutes to a variety of coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and vintage shops, and 30 minutes to the heart of French Quarter. In terms of the interiors, everything gave us the authentic NOLA experience while staying on top of our needs - stable hot shower, comfortable beds, table and chair for me to do remote work, and clean. The courtyard was divine to do readings or have breakfast, which was so delicious and thoughtful. Everyone at the premise was so nice and welcoming - ever since my mom mentioned that she prefers drinking boiled water, they made sure that we have hot boiled water everyday. These are the details that will make me recommend this place to everyone i know that is planning to visit NOLA.
Our stay started with wedding and reception taking place right outside our carriage house room so we were kind of stuck for a bit. No worries. The property is beautiful and well appointed with period pieces. The grounds were magical with luscious plantings and a courtyard fountain
THE place to stay. Location location location. All staff were wonderful. Breakfast was divine. Environment spot-on, so comfortable. Already envisioning next year.
Wonderful in All aspects! The home is lovely: the decor, the courtyard, the rooms! Most of all Kristie is so lovely, easy to reach and helpful! I loved my stay and can’t wait to back! It’s also a short 23 minute walk to the French quarter.
We were put on the 3rd floor (no elevator) and are over 70yrs. I think it should have been disclosed of being 44 steps up. Food was terrific. Location was good.
Highly recommended
the hotel decor is amazing, you walk into what you think is a five star hotel So much thought has gone into keeping this hotel true to its roots
The main lounge and dining area are stunning which leads onto a garden area where you can eat breakfast or take tea and coffee or just relax in
The location is great It is situated on magazine street, we felt fine walking around this area, it is Within walking distance of many restaurants, convenience stores all kind of shops and the French quarter
We stayed in the corner suite which is in a building adjacent to the main hotel The suite consisted of a small lounge/ kitchen area main bedroom and bathroom All perfectly clean well proportioned and beautifully decorated
But the main stars of the hotel are undoubtedly the staff from the chefs Dwayne and Pocky to the cleaning staff
Nothing is too much trouble from a friendly chat or special order breakfast or any advice where they even offer their phone number in case of need
It is without doubt a hotel to recommend and where we would stay without hesitation
Y’all. When I say this is the best place to stay in New Orleans, it’s an understatement. This is my & my husband’s favorite place to stay & we stay here every single time we travel to New Orleans from our home in Texas.
The location is perfect for stepping just outside & exploring the quieter parts of New Orleans, & it is just under 2 miles from the bustling parts like the French Quarter. It’s the best of both worlds!
The Terrell House is gorgeous, y’all!! The rooms are cozy & beautiful & I have never met a staff that makes you feel like family more than the staff at Terrell House. They are also pet friendly & that’s a rare find in a place as upscale as Terrell House.
Now let’s talk about the breakfast.... oh my goodness! Everything is homemade & unique to New Orleans cuisine. You get to enjoy your breakfast each morning in a beautiful dining room complete with antique silverware & stunning crystal chandeliers overhead.
The pricing of Terrell House coupled with the experience you get is unbeatable! You really need to look up the reviews on Terrell House on other sites if you don’t trust mine. Follow them on Facebook & search them on the web to see what everyone else says about them. You will quickly see that this is the place to stay!
COVID has done a number on our country as a whole & Terrell House has adapted wonderfully to still offer all of their best with proper sanitizing & safety measures in place.
Book with Terrell house ASAP- you won’t regret it
This was an amazing place to stay- what a gorgeous house, what a picturesque courtyard where you can sit and read and relax. Amazing food every day, enjoyed the company of other guests at breakfast. Lovely service, great staff, very helpful. Highly recommend!!!
Nice location convenient to public transportation- St. Charles street car and #11Magazine bus. We liked the residential neighborhood and shops and restaurants on Magazine. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Very tasty breakfasts.
