"Beautiful location near Volcanoes National Park and Volcano Village. Quiet, rain-forest grounds with fiddleheads, ferns, anthurium on walking path to hot tub. I was traveling with my hula sister and we wanted to watch the Merrie Monarch Festival on TV. The television was old with poor reception. I tried to contact the host through VRBO but couldn't get through. Called the VRBO help line and they cut me off so we watched on my computer instead. Glad I had it with me! Otherwise a pleasant stay."

"Very clean and simple room - quite nice. Expect the room to be super humid. There was a small dehumidifier, but it didn’t do much. The best was turning on the heater in the early morning to dry the air when the temp was cool enough. No message before arrival and no phone answer. Host responded to Vrbo messages within minutes though and gave me the information. I reserved the day before, so it could have been last minute. "While the room is cute and we enjoyed the view of the forest, it did not compensate for the deficiencies. The cleaning fee we were charged is hard to accept considering the conditions. The room smelled of cigarette smoke immediately upon entering the unit when we got there on Friday afternoon around 4:15-4:30pm. The floor had dirt and dust and bathroom mirror had previous occupants toothpaste spittle on it. Then we went to the jacuzzi: cover is falling apart, not connected to the removal bar....

"Everything about my 2 week stay was perfect. It was a cozy place that connected me with the island in a way a hotel never could. I loved the outdoor kitchen/eating area. It was very well stocked.
