"Michele is a an excellent host, warm, welcoming and fast responding to messages. The home is clean VERY clean and well stocked. The location is excellent for relaxation. With amazing ocean views and sunsets. I loved sleeping to the sound of coqui frogs and waking to the birds singing. Easy drive to volcanoes or down town Kona, right in the middle. I really appreciated location as I was able to spend more time at Two Step or Pebbles beach instead of long drives. We will be back! Mahalo Michele"

"The house was perfect and had everything we needed for our stay. Including all the essentials you usually have to buy like trash bags, dish soap paper towel and toilet paper. Tammy was awesome with communication and sent us helpful tips and directions. If we ever get back to Hawaii we will defiantly look Tammy up and rent from her again."

"After spending time on Oahu and Maui in hotels and condos, we were hoping to experience a little of the “real Hawaii.” Pu’uhonua House did not disappoint us. The location in the community of Captain Cook let us live like locals for the days we were there. The house itself is unique and obviously cared for. Our party of 9 had plenty of room. The kids (7 and 9) loved the loft. The house was even well stocked, which was unexpected and much appreciated. The best part of the house was the open decks that circle each floor. The views over the lush jungle all the way down to the coast were amazing and the constant cool breeze was soothing. We were concerned that we would regret (1) no A/C (2) bugs (3) noisy frogs; but none of those were a problem. And of course we knew we would love the little green lizards that visited every day. We were incredibly lucky that our visit coincided with Kilauea’s eruption, which made our time on the Big Island—frankly—magical. Mahalo, Bruce, for an unforgettable vacation."

"Can't beat falling asleep to the sounds of the waves crashing outside and a nice breezing coming in off the ocean. This house is absolutely beautiful. Quiet and relaxing. Would definitely recommend and visit again!Like what most said...its a bit of a haul in and out of the place so Id suggest loading up on groceries before you arrive."

"This is a really cool property. We had a hard time finding somewhere big enough for our multigenerational group. This house gave us plenty of space to spread out. The grounds are huge and the kids enjoyed exploring and finding different fruits. The host is great, super responsive and helpful. Was a little concerned about not having central AC but it cools down at night and wasn’t bad with the windows open. The house is secluded so you definitely need a car and be prepared for a lot of driving if you plan to be out of the house."
