The best area to stay in Hot Springs is within the Hot Springs village centre, particularly near Bridge Street and the French Broad River.

This compact village is the heart of activity, offering immediate access to the natural hot springs, the Appalachian Trail, and the community's main shops and eateries. Bridge Street is the central thoroughfare, leading directly to the iconic pedestrian bridge over the French Broad River, which is a key landmark. The layout is very walkable, making it easy to explore on foot.

For couples seeking a relaxing getaway, staying in the village centre provides convenience and a sense of calm. You'll be steps away from the natural hot mineral baths, great for unwinding. Many of the local inns and guesthouses offer a comfortable and intimate experience, often with amenities like private balconies or cosy common areas.

Solo travellers who enjoy hiking and nature will find the village centre ideal. The Appalachian Trail literally runs through town, so you can easily access trailheads for day hikes or longer excursions.

The best times to visit Hot Springs are during the spring (late April to early June) and autumn (late September to late October) when the weather is mild and the natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains is at its peak.

Spring brings blooming wildflowers and comfortable temperatures, ideal for hiking and enjoying the outdoors without the summer heat. The river is also often at a good level for water activities during this period.

Autumn offers spectacular foliage, with the mountainsides turning vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold. The crisp air is superb for exploring the trails and enjoying the scenic views. It's also a popular time for local festivals and events.

While summer offers warmer temperatures suitable for swimming and tubing, it can also be humid and crowded.
