"Well where to start. Greeting and check in was OK. The room was bright, clean, some tired parts, carpet was in good condition. The bathroom was modern and white, except for the shower tray which was either cream or very warm and with a bit of staining. The bed was comfortable as was the pillows. There is noise from the bar/lounge below. We found closing the bathroom door did dampen the noise. Now the name suggests upmarket but this isn’t the case. It should also be investigated by trading standards in my opinion, because it is promoted as a B&B but there was no breakfast available. However, we had to leave early’ish, if you consider going down to find breakfast at 08:30 on a Saturday as early. There was no one on site from management, half the downstairs looks like it is being refurbished. We messaged the hotel at least a week before our stay requesting a need for gluten free breakfast for my wife who is coeliac, but no acknowledge or even a reply to say they don’t or can’t provide breakfast at this time. If we had of known this, we would not have stayed here. It is a shame, because the property has so much potential. Oh and we counted only 4 rooms. Do I expect an apology or compensation, highly unlikely. Would we venture any where near this hotel in the future, not blooming likely!!!!"

"Clean room, lovely bar, nice range of drinks. Nice sunday dinner, great atmosphere, log fire bar. Breakfast was the usual cereals etc, bacon, toast, sausage was Richmond (not my preferred). Nice fresh croissants and goot drink selection I have stayed before and will stay again due to price, location, lovely romantic stay"
