In a good location, good sized room and comfy bed etc but needs to improve some of the basics. Room had not been hoovered including bathroom. Toilet could have been cleaner and shower leaked. Ceiling needed a fix as a couple of leaks from above in evidence. Tolerable for a couple of nights but couldn’t stay longer.

Nice spacious hotel, paid extra for an executive room, which was large but not impressive. No remote for the tv, asked at eception but it didn't materialise. Parking very restricted

Hot water - advised to run (hot) tap on both sink and bath for 10 mins...We left a day early.... then email with "evidence of smoking" (2 photos 2 bits of?)Tried to adopt full charge for 3rd night re spurious smoking charge.. We don't smoke! Never again

The hotel is ideally situated and close to the shops. Although there is limited parking, we managed to park on site. We didn't have dinner in the hotel, but we did have breakfast, which was very nice. We have visited Harrogate many times over the years and have always wanted to stay at the hotel. We have now done so - and will do again next time we are in the area.

Set of room was careless, dressing table in wrong place for plugs and also had a board down the back so had to physically pull it away from wall to plug hair dryer in. Settee was in bay window when a table and 2 chairs would have been better for guests to look out of the window. Settee would have been better where dressing table is and dressing table moved to wall that had a plug socket half way up the wall so you could plug hair dryer in without having to manhandle the table. Because this was not done when putting furniture in the room shows a lack of care for guests.

ROOM TOO SMALL

Hi there, I have just checked your booking and you have in fact booked a cozy double room, where the beds are pushed up against the wall. Our regular doubles have just a standard double with access to the bed from both sides. Cozy doubles do tend to be a little bit cheaper than regular doubles as well.

Looking a bit tired but still a lovely clean hotel. Pillows were a bit uncomfortable. Also although I had paid the £20 each for the meal upgrade my husband was asked for it again on departure lucky I was there and could prove I had already paid

Obviously an old building with lot's of character. Excellent location, could not fault anything. Only had breakfast which was very nice. Dog friendly which suited us as we could take our little pooch with us.

Rooms are a bit dated, if you have trouble getting in to the shower ask for an accessible room. Beds a bit small but on the whole it does the job!

A very comfortable hotel within 5 minutes walk of the town centre. The service is always great too. Another fantastic stay at the Crown hotel.

Charming Hotel Stay
Beautiful building with a charming reception and foyer. Large rooms with comfortable beds. Less on eco-friendliness as the rooms were large and single pane glass. Very pleasant staff

Great, exept breakfast
Nice looking hotel oozing old fashioned charm. Small car park but was lucky and managed to get a bay. Had a suite on second floor and found it roomy and comfortable. Excellent location for exploring Harrogate. Only downside was the quality of the cooked breakfast, limited choice, serve yourself buffet, no black pudding, no mushrooms, no fried eggs, no hash browns, what was available was over cooked hard sausages, over cooked bacon, scrambled eggs, potato pieces, tomatoes and beans which were only on the warm side, pity really, but all in all we enjoyed our stay. Not to mention nice friendly staff.

Very dated hotel. Nothing ‘Executive’ about the Executive room we booked . Breakfast awful , everything had been mass produced early and was sitting under hot lamps . Bacon cremated and sausages dry . Fried eggs been under lights for over an hour and were like bullets . Hot drinks options good .

Crown Hotel, Harrogate
The Crown Hotel, Harrogate is perfectly situated for retail therapy and restaurants. Parking is limited at the hotel and on street parking close by requires a parking token which should be available from reception but they didn’t have any during our stay. Hence I had to park my car about a mile away from the hotel. I can certainly recommend breakfast which was hot, well presented and plentiful. The bedroom was clean, comfortable and well decorated.

Very good, but could easily be better
The Crown provides an excellent base to visit Harrogate. Parking is always an issue but due to my partner’s disability we were allocated a space for the final two nights. We did not eat in the hotel but we met members of her family in the lounge which was very comfortable. The room we had was the best we have had in several stays but the television didn’t work (didn’t miss it at all) and the shower was never warm and the flow was very poor. Every member of staff we met was excellent and very friendly. I have little doubt we will stay at The Crown again, hopefully the shower will be better next time.

Dissappointed stay
Having stopped at the crown on lots of occasions, usually in a front facing room, we stayed in room 241 at the back of the hotel. The room was dark and dismal with a small temperamental tv, we tried to change rooms, but were unable as the hotel was quite full. The Crown hotel used to have a cooked breakfast that was the envy of all the Harrogate hotels, but sadly the quality and choice has declined over the past couple of years (fried eggs available at special request) and is not the value for money it used to be. This is the first time I've ever given a negative review of the Crown hotel and maybe we were unlucky with the room.

Not quite a jewel in the Crown.
The staff were very friendly. The food was good, apart from the dessert. The room was a bit grubby and the view of a wall and weeds in the gutter was disappointing. However, it’s a magnificent building in a great location and we would go again.
