"Only 5 minutes from St Petersburg airport"
We needed a hotel near the airport. Since we were just staying a few hours overnight to catch an early flight it was adequate and very well priced. The staff was very helpful and added at least one star to the hotel.

Ponce De Leon Hotel - St. Petersburg Hotels

Ponce De Leon Hotel

95 Central Ave, St. Petersburg - Map
The room we stayed in had been updated very nicely, and had a modern feel. The hardwood floors were wonderful, and added a great upscale feel! The window view was of another building, but we didn't spend much time in the room. The location is great, and lots of fun places within walking distance. No hotel parking, but parked in a garage a couple of blocks away for $7/day. The hotel price was much less than others in the same area. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends!

"Comfortable, right on the beach.. "
Needed a place to stay for one night, this came up. Very surprised, nice price, nice accomodations and the most comfortable beds on our trip. Reminds me of old Florida.. were there for a Friday nite, Karaoke was a hoot. Very good experience at Bilmar.

"Noisy room, location and food excellent "
The location and restaurants are excellent. The room was on the second floor. I was told it was an upgrade(the view was the hotel parking lot next door). The rooms are not well insulated. I could hear housekeeping sweeping next door and every door in the hall slam shut. The beds were very comfortable but woken up by noisy guests.

"Reasonable hotel on outstanding beach"
The hotel is dated but undergoing renovation, the room was small but really clean, great beds and brand new, updated bathroom, extremely comfortable. They provide Tommy Bahama products, which is a nice touch. The hotel has a cute retro vibe. The pool wasn't that appealing but the hotel is right on the beach, which is one of the best beaches I've ever seen. If you're ok with casual and clean, this is a great choice. I would go back. My only beef is the $20 resort fee, which I thought a bit much for what you get.

"Guest ratings tell it all"
The hotel is not new but it is well maintained and comfortable. The fitness room needs some work. The main feature of the place though is the staff. All wonderfully helpful and friendly with personnel available 24/7. They do all the small things right. One desk clerk trotted next door to a restaurant to buy a roll of quarters so she could give me change for the guest laundry and left me feeling she was happy to do it. (They also keep at the front desk packages of laundry detergent which they will GIVE you.) Another desk clerk invited me behind the counter to print boarding passes on her computer because the guest computer system was out of paper. The location is good, not on the beach but there is public beach access right across the street. Treasure Bay Resort caught my eye because the review ratings were so high compared to the cost and the place lived up to its billing. We'll stay there again.

Guy Harvey Outpost, a TradeWinds Beach Resort - St. Pete Beach Hotels

Guy Harvey Outpost, a TradeWinds Beach Resort

"comfortable hotel right on the beach"
I have been to Guy Harvey for several years now. It has a great location on St. Pete's Beach and is part of the Tradewinds group so guests at Guy Harvey have access to all the amenities at Tradewinds just down the beach. Staff are incredibly friendly. We have a Gulf front suite - 480 sq. ft - including a living area and fully equipped kitchen. Pros: Friendly staff, great location, can make small meals in the room, close to lots of stuff, adult only pool and hot tub, good size room although it was an upgrade Neg: They charge a $40.00 per room daily resort fee, which you have to pay even if you don't use the facilities. I didn't use the facilities so with the exchange to Canadian dollars, it was a $60/day hit basically for nothing. It would be better if they gave you a choice to take it or not and those that did could wear the wristbands. I will probably return to St. Pete's Beach as I like it there but I may look into a hotel without the resort fee next time.
