"good hotel in great location"
fabulous 6 nights at the Park Lane Hotel, room overlooking Central Park, with easy access to all the sights and shops, The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Didn't use the restaurant or bars, but the 'grab and go' breakfast in the lobby was really handy. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay in New York.

"Pretty perfect."
I stayed for two nights in the Surrey and it was everything I look for in a hotel. Spotlessly clean, very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic location right by central park and Madison Avenue and 2 blocks from 77th subway station, delicious food, huge room with everything you need, and an amazingly comfortably, luxurious bed that I wish I could have taken home with me!

"A Lovely Building In A lovely Querter of Town"
One must understand that the Westside YMCA is not the Hyatt Regency, it is the Y and a hostel. Now we can proceed with the lesson. The rooms are clean and suited to the primary purpose of getting a good night's sleep. I even had a room with a view, I could see Central Park and the Manhattan skyline beyond. The bathroom is shared, but not in military fashion, it is private once you get inside and lock the door. The shower and commode and sink worked very well and all was clean. It is quiet and perfectly located two blocks from Columbus Circle and the trains, plus great walking distance from all the wonderful sights of Midtown Manhattan! The clientele is a wonderful mix of peoples from around the wod and age groupings, and families. My next trip to NYC shall be stayed at the Westside YMCA! Oh! And I'm an old guy who likes my quite and privacy!

"Great hotel, even better location!"
We loved our stay at the Comfort Inn Central Park West. Sure the rooms are tiny but what else to you expect for NYC (unless you want to pay $400 a night) The hotel was located just around the corner from 4 subway lines and only a couple blocks from 3 more so it was very easy to get to any location in Manhattan. Our room was amazingly clean, in fact cleaner than some 4-5 star hotels we've stayed in. (ie Sheratons and Hiltons) We would definitely book this hotel again. Thank you cleaning lady on 6th floor! Filipe on the front desk, along with another girl (sorry I don't know your name) were friendly and so helpful. They helped us understand the subway and how to get around. They kept our luggage before and after check out so we could make the most of our time in NYC. Alex who ran around the hotel helping with just about anything was always smiling and doing what he could to make everyone's stay a good one. The breakfast was very good. If you came later toward the end the selection was limited however if you came early there was everything from eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, bagels, muffins, donuts, fruit, waffles, hot or cold cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea. Coffee and tea were available 24/7 which was awesome! The hallways in some areas were a little tired looking and could use some sprucing up but it was clean. I can overlook that. We weren't there to see the hotel we were there to see NYC. Thank you for such a great stay!

"HUGE studio suite, and great outdoor balcony!"
the room was absoltuely HUGE, and the balcony overlooking Central Park and Columbus circle from the 10th floor was great. would have been nice if the roof top bar was open air, but still nice given the changing seasons and weather. Highly recommend.

Pocket Guide: New York Central Park Hotels

Buildings crane above one another to claim views of Central Park, a piece of real estate valued at more than $528 billion. Surprises abound in its 843 acres. The grounds include a castle, a zoo, several lakes, and an Egyptian obelisk. A city that never sleeps needs its quiet time, too: Central Park has six designated “quiet zones,” including Strawberry Fields, the monument to John Lennon.
