I had read many bad reviews about this hotel so was prepared for the worst, but I had a great experience. The front desk lady was very nice and caring (although there was a little bit of a wait to get a room.) I arrived at about 10:30 at night on a Wednesday. The Expedia reservation was honored, and I was given a nice room on the 15th floor. (This place is HUGE, with more than 16 floors and 10 elevators.) It's definitely historic in nature- the hallways are wide and very long, and each door has a plaque noting the building's historic nature. The room itself was fairly modern though and very clean with a modern flat-screen TV. It was a bit on the small side but on the whole very nice. Everything functioned, the water pressure and temperature was great, and hangers, an ironing board, an iron, and a hair dryer were provided. On the whole it was very nice- would definitely stay there again. Forgot to mention, the location is PERFECT, and the lobby is extremely grand looking- looks like a very swanky hotel.
We were like, "A hotel in Manhattan for that little? What's wrong with it?" Well it is a great deal! The price is low because the rooms are small, there are no real extra's. But if you are looking for a clean, quiet place to flop and you want a deal, this is it. The staff was very friendly and the hotel clean and quiet. What more do you need?
If you like funky old world charm with a European flare you'll love the Jane.
I think Wes Anderson must of stayed here before he made the Grand Budapest Hotel.
Great location, excellent restaurant an overall lovely experience.
My husband and I stayed 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Lovely coffee and gathering room to sit and plan the day. Close to many attractions and subway. Would stay again.
