After reading some of the reviews before I went I wasn't really looking forward to our stay here but once we arrived it was a fantastic lobby and there was a big queue at the reception but we was seen rather quickly. The receptionist couldn't help us enough. We got in the room and it was a little dated but it had everything we needed, certainly all the essentials and we had a good view of Madison square gardens. I mean I could be picky but for the money and location we couldn't of done much better. If you want a hotel just to store your things and get your head down this is a great place for that. I really enjoyed my stay in New York and this is ideal if your doing a trip on a budget and don't be put off by past reviews.
I chose this hotel by reading the comments previous travelers had made and was pleased I had done so.The hotel was close to Times Square and convenient for access to all New York attractions on my wish list. The whole holiday was fantastic.
This hotel has a fairly low star rating and very mixed reviews, but because of it's relative low cost compared to others in the same area, we decided to take a chance. I'm SO glad we did. It's a gorgeous 120 year old art deco building so everything does look a little worn, but that adds to its charm and it's 100% clean and tidy which is what really matters. Don't expect more than a clean, comfortable but basic room and you won't be dissapointed. It was a decent size for 2 people. the bathroom was clean and relatively new with no issues in terms of the hot water, the number of towels or the job done by housekeeping. And the bed was comfortable. what more do you need? I also found this to have the friendliest most helpful staff of any hotel i've ever stayed in, they couldn't do enough for us and were always interested to find out what we'd been up to each day so it was more like staying with friends. And the most important reason why you should stay here is because you're less than five minutes from Times Square and all the best places to eat and pick up sight seeing tours or go shopping... We're definitely going to come back to New York and when we do there's only one place we want to stay!
We loved our stay at the Comfort Inn Central Park West. Sure the rooms are tiny but what else to you expect for NYC (unless you want to pay $400 a night)
The hotel was located just around the corner from 4 subway lines and only a couple blocks from 3 more so it was very easy to get to any location in Manhattan.
Our room was amazingly clean, in fact cleaner than some 4-5 star hotels we've stayed in. (ie Sheratons and Hiltons) We would definitely book this hotel again. Thank you cleaning lady on 6th floor!
Filipe on the front desk, along with another girl (sorry I don't know your name) were friendly and so helpful. They helped us understand the subway and how to get around. They kept our luggage before and after check out so we could make the most of our time in NYC. Alex who ran around the hotel helping with just about anything was always smiling and doing what he could to make everyone's stay a good one.
The breakfast was very good. If you came later toward the end the selection was limited however if you came early there was everything from eggs, bacon or sausage, toast, bagels, muffins, donuts, fruit, waffles, hot or cold cereal, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea.
Coffee and tea were available 24/7 which was awesome!
The hallways in some areas were a little tired looking and could use some sprucing up but it was clean. I can overlook that. We weren't there to see the hotel we were there to see NYC.
Thank you for such a great stay!
Hotel staff friendly and accommodating. Great bagels! Comfortable room. We had an early arrival and staff checked to see if the room was ready. It was not ready, but we were able to check our bags and travel around the city.
