"ROOM DISAPPOINTMENT"
When I booked a room in the Americana Hotel through Expedia I specifically asked for a room with an en suite bath room. I was told that this was arranged. To my big disappointment no room in the Americana Inn had an en suite bathroom. For the amount of $$$$ we paid, a full en suite bathroom should have been provided.

"Good hotel near times square"
Good hotel, neat and clean. Helpful front desk. Luggage storage facility available, although at rate of 2 dollars per bag. Good bar but food options not much in hotel. Central location, easy to access by trams, bus and taxis.

"Great location!"
Staff aren't the friendliest, but I enjoyed the experience in one of the tiny cabin rooms. The hotel is old and although they've done a lot of restoration, don't expect a classy five star feel. The rooms were cozy and had ample storage. No central air, but crank up your room's window unit and your room will cool in no time. Don't forget your toiletries as their complimentary selection is definitely bargain value. Overall, a fun experience for the price in my favorite part of the city. I'll stay again and definitely recommend it for travelers on a budget.

"gret Union Square location"
Very conveniently located & very well priced for a NYC hotel, Hotel 17 served a very good purpose: a clean place to sleep and at a very affordable price. The hall bathrooms were fine. I never had to wait to use them. The sink in the room was helpful. Other than the window A/C unit not being very effective, all was fine. It's a great place for an " in & out" hotel .... Sleep and then go do your NYC activities. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Value driven success.

The hotel was modern (1997), and I paid for a deluxe room which provided more space. The room had a desk, which I always use. I also greatly appreciated the refrigerator unit. My room offered a good view of the street. It was not advertised as an international hotel, but it was. I enjoyed sharing breakfast with people from all over the world. The room telephone did not have an answering machine, which almost all hotels do. This was a drawback. As stated below, the entire staff was excellent, and the location was close to the No.1, C and E subway trains. It was only four (4) blocks from the Flatiron Building, and architectural wonder, which I visited three times. The entire staff was super in all ways, and there were lots of deli's and eateries nearby.

"Good enough"
In chinatown, nice staff, small rooms with hard beds, but it was clean and affordable. We only stayed one night so I can't say too much, but I'd come back.

"Fairly basic, but quite nice"
I chose this hotel because I needed to work in Chinatown and at NYU, so the location is perfect. The room is pretty basic, but well-designed. For New York City, the room is quite large. I would recommend it to travelers and people coming for work who don't need a business center or a meeting space.
