Ascend the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand for stunning views over Auckland. Dine in the rotating restaurant or take a dive from a height of 194 metres.
Standing tall at 328 metres, the Sky Tower is Auckland's most iconic landmark. Three glass lifts carry visitors up to the main observation deck (186 metres up) where the surrounding landscape can be seen for 80 kilometres around. Each lift can carry up to 220 people at a time, and they run every 15 minutes. The main observation deck has glass floors and interactive displays that allow you to discover more about Auckland. You can even send a postcard from the highest postbox in the Southern Hemisphere! If you're looking for an even more impressive view, there is another viewing platform further up the building, at 220 metres. The Sky Deck comes complete with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and costs a little extra. If staring down at the world from above is a little boring for your taste, you could try the Sky Jump. This is a cable-controlled leap off the tower from 194 metres involving a drop at about 80 kilometres an hour to the landing target on the ground below. Alternatively, get buckled into a harness for a hair-raising walk around the narrow platform circling the tower at the same height. There are three restaurants capitalising on the finest views in Auckland, including a rotating restaurant. Offerings range from gourmet dinners to mid-morning coffees, or a classic cocktail to be sipped while gazing down at the city lights below.Located right in the centre of Auckland, the Sky Tower is difficult to miss. It's extremely easy to get here on foot, and there's also plenty of parking just adjacent to it. The tower is open every day until late into the night.
