"What we like about this resort is the forest/jungle feel of it, lots of vegetation, banana trees, coconut trees etc. Lots of wildlife within the resort which is cool. We've stayed at lots of higher end resorts that are all concrete and marble and they're great but this has a more authentic Mexican vibe which is nice for a change. Definitely dated but the food was great, the beach was great and the water park was a hit with the kids. The pools are okay definitley could be maintained better."

"Anoche tuvimos la oportunidad de cenar en el restaurante Xal, una experiencia que, lamentablemente, fue muy decepcionante. El restaurante ofrece un menú de diez tiempos con una propuesta de fusión entre la gastronomía mexicana, finlandesa y del País Vasco. Sin embargo, desde nuestro punto de vista, la ejecución fue realmente deficiente. La presentación de los platos era poco atractiva y, lo más preocupante, fue la calidad y preparación de la comida. Los sabores, las texturas y la cocción estuvieron muy lejos de lo que esperábamos de un restaurante de este nivel. Entre los platos que nos sirvieron fue una preparación con cachete de res, al que ellos llaman “carrillera” o “carretilla”. La carne estaba hervida sin gota de sazón, y la experiencia fue muy desagradable. Una preparación de este tipo, especialmente en un menú degustación de diez tiempos, debería estar perfectamente ejecutada y cuidada en cada detalle, me cuesta creer que una propuesta que pretende estar inspirada en la gastronomía del País Vasco —una de las cocinas más reconocidas y respetadas del mundo— haya sido desarrollada y ejecutada de esta manera. Si realmente existe asesoría o participación de chefs vascos, considero que debería revisarse seriamente la ejecución del menú y la formación del equipo de cocina. En mi opinión, el restaurante necesita una revisión completa y profunda. Un hotel de esta categoría y con precios tan elevados no debería ofrecer una experiencia gastronómica de este nivel. Urgente ‼️"

"Wow! Easily the best resort we have stayed at. I am not Vegan but the best part of this trip was definitely the food. The all-inclusive is the best deal around by far. There are plenty of non-vegan options but honestly I mostly ate the vegan versions. Everything was top-shelf. Charlies Vegan Tacos were a highlight. And we actually lost some weight while we were there since its so healthy. The service was incredible. Everywhere we went we were greeted with smiles and hellos. We got to know by name many of the staff. The Pools are about the best I have seen and the beach (when there is not seaweed) is incredible. And they keep it cleaner than any other beach around. Every time we ventured out to try something different we came back to the hotel because it was just better. The free classes like Yoga were amazing as well. I feel this is a secret that will soon be out. But thank you to all the staff who were part of this experience."

"Las fotos no le hacen justicia al lugar, es simplemente hermoso. Nos toco un cuarto precioso frente a la piscina en el segundo piso pero la primera noche fue incómodo por que teniamos un sliding door sin cortinas y el agua tenia un olor feo. El dueño fue muy atento, nos cambio de cuarto y el resto de los dias fueron perfectos. Disfrutamos de la piscina, tenemos fotos muy lindas y estabamos cerca de todo. Lo recomiendo si busca tranquilidad."

"This property is a must for couples with kids and close to all the attractions. Carlos, the owner is a great host and rolls out the carpet for you. The pictures don’t do justice for this property, you have to experience it in person to enjoy its unique look and feel. The pool is great and the downstairs master bedroom was spectacular. All rooms in this house are decorated with Mexican flare. We will come back and stay in the future, for sure. Thank you Carlos for sharing your home!"
