"The accommodation gave everything I needed for an overnight stay as a solo traveller on my motorcycle. The breakfast this morning was excellent one of the best I’ve ever had. All in all a good stay and would not hesitate to use it again."

"A very warm welcome from Valerie after our long journey 'up North'. Room was inviting and cosy. Breakfasts were excellent with a wide choice,freshly cooked. Hotel location was also great to use as a base to venture around the area on days out. Would recommend."

"Excellent location for both forest and local villages and towns. Quiet location, all meals very good, breakfast you couldn’t ask for more options. Staff excellent , efficient, yet couldn’t do more. Beers from Cropton brewery excellent and good choices. Some of building from 400 years very quirky rooms on multiple levels, confusing at first but yousoon become accustomed."

"Enough bedding for the depths of winter and a comfortable bed big enough for us two. An unspoilt Victorian house. Very good breakfast. Plenty of parking, very handy for Pickering & NYMR. We would re visit."
