"Staff were helpful we booked last minute and arrived after the end of service in the restaurant, by 10 minutes, but staff checked with the kitchen and we could have got a pizza. Breakfast was lovely and staff attentive. "

"Absolutely amazing stay. The hotel was beautiful, and very accommodating. We stayed in room 6 in the courtyard, and it was one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in, truly beautiful. Really cosy and romantic. We had our dog with us as well, they left a dog bowl and some treats in the room for him which was a lovely addition. Food in restaurant for breakfast and dinner was lovely too. Will definitely be back! "

"We hadn't stayed here before and it had been a long time since we'd been in Scarborough so didn't really have any expectations. We were 'upgraded' to a sea view room on the 4th floor but this is a 19th Century building so don't expect palatial. Everything was clean but tired but this is reflected in the price. The communal areas are stunning. The room wasn't serviced but we were only there 2 nights so that wasn't a problem and reception happily supplied us with more tea/coffee/milk. The Spa bath didn't work - again not too much of an issue. I also want to give a special thank you to Ann Bell who we 'happened across' whilst having we were orientating ourselves. She went out of her way to give us a guided tour and was very informative and helpful. 5* for Ann. On the whole our stay was comfortable and enjoyable but you do have to remember the age of the building and its' constraints. Parking could be an issue in the height of the Summer I suspect but it is certainly on our 'go back to' list"

"Another great stay, the hotel is brilliant. Location good, free parking nearby, the welcoming staff are excellent. The rooms are a little dated, but spotlessly clean and well maintained. We don’t spend much time there, so all mod cons not essential for us. Excellent value for money and a place we return to again and again."
