"This is an older hotel property, and has the layout you might expect. Not luxurious, but very clean and ideal for our purposes of exploring downtown Asheville for the weekend! We were on the 5th floor, and liked how we could take the stairs or elevator to easily get up and down. Front desk was friendly and efficient. We will stay here again!"

"Plan on coming back here to stay. Excellent location, comfortable, modern. Amazing shower. Excellent rate and our dog loved it. Could not get TV in main room to work and not a fan of Free TV stations. We will request earlier check-in next time if no one is there before us. Be sure to take your dog to the The Park at Flat Rock, best place to take your dog for a long walk. "

"The property was beautiful and the hosts were very helpful! It was the perfect spot for a getaway with friends! The location was perfect as it was a short drive from town and right on a gorgeous lake, where we had access to canoes and kayaks. We went on a few gorgeous hikes around the area (Whiteside Mountain, High Falls, and Rainbow Fallls at Gorges National Park). I highly recommend staying here, and I can’t wait to book my next trip!"

"Matt is an exceptional host and all around great guy. The house is in a great location -- close to everything but in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood (a little too close to Jeremiah's Italian Ice which we ended up visiting several times!) Our small pup could not have been happier and we really felt like it was a home away from home. We would definitely stay again."

"Had a last minute opportunity to visit my daughter and looked at VRBO since I've always had great luck with them. Got to the property and found out that my room was 1/4 price per night. I paid VRBO more than 4 times what the hotel price was per night. Property was just barely OK. Pool was closed. Breakfast made my daughter violently ill which put a damper on the weekend. Feel stupid and taken advantage of...and yes, I am part of that responsibility so that is why I am writing this review...buyer...

"The Treehouse Suite at The Calhoun House is a great property. This particular suite is located in a separate building from the other suites, which was ideal for us, as we had our baby and toddler with us. We did not worry about disturbing other guests if he cried or was a little loud. Edward was amazing as we checked in. He had some food essentials in the refrigerator and had some scrumptious treats from the local bakery. The suite was well stocked with toiletries and kitchen supplies and was...
