Instead of cancelling the booking from their end the host messaged me on trivago, since I was expecting a message anyway for the login code, and you have to login to read messages I left it. Host also alerted trivago it was double booked, who did not contact me either. Drove all the way to Dunedin with 2 kids, stranded and nowhere to stay. "The room and bathroom were very clean, the room tastefully furnished, the bed very comfortable. Couldn't fault the room. We liked the location of the property, an easy walk to down town but far enough out to be able to get a carpark. Especially good that the hotel is in a repurposed office building. Perhaps the hallway carpets could be cleaned."
