The best time to go to Linville is during the autumn months, specifically from late September to late October, for the stunning fall foliage and pleasant weather.

During this period, the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding Linville are awash with vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows, making it an ideal time for scenic drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking. The weather is typically cool and crisp, great for outdoor activities without the humidity of summer or the chill of winter.

For those who enjoy hiking and exploring nature, the autumn offers comfortable temperatures for tackling trails like those leading to Linville Falls or along Grandfather Mountain. Many local craft fairs and harvest festivals also take place during this time, providing opportunities to experience local culture and cuisine.

If you prefer warmer weather for outdoor pursuits like fishing or golfing, the summer months from June to August are also a good option, though you should expect more humidity and a higher chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
