A beguiling charming traditional stay in an enchanted low rise part of Kyoto near the river and the bamboo forest. Host could not be more helpful or courteous.

We are at this Machiya on our recent holiday to Kyoto. The host Yuki introduced the place to us and we got to make macha together. It was a lovely place to stay and the outdoor bath was really nice especially as it is winter time now. It is located near Kyoto station and Gojo station. We also had the traditional breakfast which was delicious. Overall we were glad we picked this place for our stay at Kyoto and would highly recommend it!!

Safe, quiet and the room make you feel really historical

We absolutely loved our stay! The room was large, clean, close to everything you need and more. We will definately be back to stay. Highly recommend!

This was not just a room for 4 but a fantastic experience. We were greeted with a tea ceremony and wonderful service. The futons are extremely comfortable and the outside bath infused with tea is extremely relaxing. We were also provided with traditional pajamas and I recommend the traditional BBQ breakfast with fish and vegetables.

This hotel easily ranks in my top five stays. My only regret? Not having my family with me to share the experience. But no worries—that just gives me the perfect excuse to come back with them!

Our first time in a Ryokan and my first time in Japan. Now at the end of our journey, I think we started at the best of traditional Ryokans. Beautiful location, in the forest and deer all around. Very welcoming staff and we were looked after so well by our hostess, who was lovely and helped us with everything..she even spoke some English! Quite a personal experience. Fantastic hotel. Prime location, beautiful outlook onto the river and mountain behind. Beautiful interiors and rooms. Fantastic restaurant - we enjoyed breakfast and dinner and an evening drink up there. Kinosaki onsen itself is lovely we visited 3 onsen with the pass that they provided us. Highly recommend a 2 night stay. Easy train tourney from Osaka.
