"The hotel has been recently rebranded and is undergoing extensive renovations. The bits they've finished, like the rooms and the dining room, are new and shiny. The room itself was comfortable. This picturesque fishing village is famous for its unique wooden boathouses built directly over the water, with garages for boats on the ground floor and living quarters above. The main road, Prefectural Road 563, winds along the bay, offering continuous views of these distinctive structures. It's a quiet area, great for experiencing local life.

Couples seeking a romantic and serene getaway will particularly enjoy staying in a renovated funaya. Many offer stunning views of the bay from their windows or balconies, providing a unique and intimate setting. You can often arrange private boat tours directly from your accommodation, allowing for a close-up perspective of the boathouses and the bay.

For families, staying in a funaya can also be a special experience, especially if it offers more space and amenities. Children will likely be fascinated by the boats directly beneath their living quarters and the opportunity to watch local fishermen at work.
When is the best time to go to Ine?
The best time to visit Ine is during the spring (late March to early May) and autumn (October to November) months.

Spring offers mild temperatures and clear skies, great for enjoying a boat tour around the bay or cycling along the coastline. The cherry blossoms, while not as abundant as in Kyoto city, add a lovely touch to the landscape, especially around the hillsides surrounding the bay. It's a great time for those who enjoy outdoor activities without the intensity of summer heat.

Autumn brings comfortable weather and beautiful foliage as the trees surrounding Ine Bay change colour. This season is ideal for leisurely strolls through the village, exploring the traditional boathouses, and enjoying fresh local seafood. The cooler temperatures make it pleasant for exploring the area's natural beauty and cultural heritage.

While summer (June to September) can be warm and humid, it's still a good time to visit if you enjoy water activities like swimming or fishing.
