Well I like that everything was close to the station. A lot of great restaurants, shops, convenient stores, and beautiful sights. Over all I would come back for sure.
Absolutely perfect. I needed a quick one night stay, walking distance from Kyoto Station and it had everything I needed. The room is small but no bigger than it needs to be when you just want a bed to fall asleep on after a long journey.
The owner met me at the door, welcomed me in, gave me a tour and was generally very helpful and friendly. I'd definitely stay again.
Clean, affordable, and adequately sized. Don't really need anything else.

Small stay with a good location. If you want a cheap stay in Kyoto, this might be a good option. Do note that it didn't feel that traditional + there wasn't much comfort, you basicaly slept on a thick blanket. If you don't mind sleeping on hard surfaces, this might be ok for you.
The houseowner was constantly keeping an eye out & watched what you were doing all the time once you got in the common rooms, which felt a bit uncomfortable.
Room was clean but a little smelly? If you're a medium-large to large human, the bathroom and shower are gonna be cramped. The stairs to the second floor are incredibly steep and shallow and scary when carrying a suitcase.

Overpriced
The accommodation and staff were pleasant enough, however the level of comfort and facilities appeared overpriced compared to our accommodation at other locations.
OVERPRICED
Only one person can stay as very small area. Should be 1/3 price and should not take booking for family or couple. Host is good and overall clean. Not much basic amenities available even Sampoo. Railway station present nearby. Conviene also infornt of stay.
Location was ok, about 10 min away from Kyoto Station. Not so much to do there at night, but there's 7-eleven nearby which proved very convenient.
Everything was very clean. Room size was ok but the bathroom was a bit small.
There's not much interaction between guests, and one should keep quiet at night.
The owner was very nice. Overall, it was a good experience.
there was no cleaning in the room. hair on the bed linen and pillow. a lof of hair in the shower room. the worst. I do not know how many days it is left uncleaned.
Kitchenette shown in pictures is a shared one and not particularly clean.
Room so small that suitcases would need to be stored outside of room when futons deployed,
Bathroom tiny cubicle in corner,
Room facilities quoted on tiny table at floor level in corner and not very useable.
No clothing storage.
Air conditioning did not work.
To sum up totally uninhabitable for a couple.
Checked out after five minutes in room and lost my money.
