Our guide on where to stay in Jamestown

Find the best Jamestown areas for the activities you enjoy most.

Shoreby Hill

Shoreby Hill in Jamestown offers a rare glimpse into America's Gilded Age summer colony life. This National Register historic district features distinctive early 20th-century architecture along peaceful, tree-lined streets. Elegant shingle-style cottages and Colonial Revival homes create a refined atmosphere. The neighborhood's charm lies in its tranquil residential character and meticulously landscaped common areas. Mature oaks and maples frame occasional views of Narragansett Bay. While lacking shops or restaurants within its boundaries, Shoreby Hill's authentic historic ambiance makes it perfect for contemplative walks and architecture enthusiasts.

Jamestown Shores

Jamestown Shores embraces the quiet charm of coastal New England with its rocky beaches and peaceful waterfront paths. Head's Beach offers a perfect spot to watch sailboats glide across Narragansett Bay. The neighborhood's weathered-shingled homes and private docks create a quintessential Rhode Island seascape. This residential haven provides a genuine local experience away from tourist crowds. Salt air and seabird calls fill the atmosphere as you explore the shoreline. Visitors appreciate the calm waters for kayaking and swimming during summer months. Most travellers drive to nearby Jamestown village for dining options after days spent enjoying the natural coastal beauty.

"I feel as if the moto today is pay more and get less but that’s across the board for everything. The room needed a few more towels. I don’t mind not having daily maid service ( and I could ask for it) but please give me more than two towels in the room. We were able to ask for more but then again I paid enough not to have to go get more towels. The breakfast nook was very minimal, which wasn’t a big deal for me but again pay more get less. The coffee was terrible. So weak it didn’t even taste like coffee. Again, pay more get less. On the positive I would go back and recommend the hotel. It was a perfect location! Very friendly staff and very clean. The little things that can mean a lot just weren’t there."
