Candlewood Suites met me and my brother's needs perfectly for a weekend trip up to Montreal. Here are the reasons I would recommend booking this hotel for anyone considering:
1. The friendliness/helpfulness of the staff
- The staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Everyone spoke perfect English to me and answered my questions about parking, how to get to the room, and where to go to convert cash. The woman who checked me in that first night even converted 40$ USD to CAD at the front desk, which was awesome as the exchange centers were closed by the time we got up there in the evening. Everyone I spoke with was approachable and did not seem bothered when I asked them questions.
2. The room
- I honestly wasn't sure what to expect about the size of the room given that we had booked a single queen bed, but it was large! The room had a full counter stove, sink, refrigerator, eating bowels, and utensils all in the room. The bed itself was nice and firm (while not being overly so) and comfortable for both my brother and I to get a good night’s sleep. Everything in the room was really clean, including the bathroom, and the sheets on the bed were freshly washed.
3. The location
- This hotel is located a 5 minute walk away from the Complexe Desjardins where restaurants, an IGA grocery store, a metro stop, and an RBC bank for converting money are located. Place Des Arts, Chinatown, and Old Montreal are also nearby within walking distance.
"Very nice, well within walking distance of points"
Hotel staff was very accommodating, so was staff in breakfast room and bar. Rooms were pleasant
and quiet. An additional pleasant feature was the small kitchen, fully supplied. Did not use it very
much this time, but will during future visits. Can well recommend the facilities to others and will
certainly do so. Found the cost of staying very reasonable indeed and the location excellent.
How happy we were when we arrived at the Travel Lodge to find a wonderful destination waiting for us. Friendly check-in, spacious, clean and quiet room. The cleaning staff was friendly and helpful, the couple of times we had to ask a question. We felt very satisfied with our stay and we would visit again, and of course, recommend to friends! Thank you, Travel Lodge!

"Nice quiet hotel, in the most beautiful city ever"
I felt at home. I cannot wait to come back ☺ Spent 6 beautiful days visiting le Vieux Montréal, le Vieux Port, walking on the Mont Royal, shopping on rue Ste-Catherine and eating in superb restaurants. Beautiful city and beautiful people
From earlier online reviews, I was frightened about what I would find but the price was so good, I decided to give La Tour Belvedere a try. What a huge surprise! Polite, knowledgable and bilingual staff. Beautiful room, I got upgraded to a suite with nice bedroom, good kitchenette complete with coffee pot, toaster, hot water plug in kettle, microwave, good size fridge and stove. Cabinets filled with dishes (enough for 4 people), pots and pans, utensils, etc.
Nice view of city skyline from 10th floor with nice little balcony. Brand new double elevators worked perfectly. Clean and inviting swimming pool, exercise room, sauna and shower room and laundry on top floor. Tight but clean and convenient parking in basement of the building. I paid extra fee for wifi and parking but was very pleased with overall cost. I will be returning for sure!
