An impressive building, clean, well staffed and with a comfortable atmosphere. Our room was fine for one night but for a longer stay we would want something bigger. Notice was taken of our requested requirements and the staff as a whole were a credit to the Hotel.
We took our evening meal in the bar and were most impressed.
All in all it was a most enjoyable stay.
Thanks to all involved.
An odd place....like a dorm room of a community college. Stupid sliding bathroom door would not behave. Made reservations WELL in advance and was given the disabled room. Linens nice. Temperature of the room OK. Quiet. Nothing near by to explore. Good pub food at the bar which is located in strange place. Beautiful grounds. Good and large breakfast with variety. Coffee service in the room.
"Booked for day at Ascot races. Short taxi journey."
Upgraded to a suite which was magnificent. The quality of the hotel far exceeded many London hotels and the value for money was excellent. Also the meal we had in the reastauant on the Friday night was first class. The ribeye steak I had was one of the best I have tasted and cooked perfectly.
Arrived at the hotel Wednesday evening, staff took cases to the room also arranged a taxi to take us to town that evening and to Ascot the following day. Breakfast fantastic with a wide range of choices. Excellent service from the friendly staff. Would recommend this lovely place to stay.

Probably would have been fine coming from the west--but from east (Windsor) at night. My advice is to not

"Affordable accommodation quite close to London. "
Basic hotel but with the major advantage of being quite close to good routes into the capital but in a quiet street.
Additionally there are very good restaurants very close and they are really good especially the Jade.
But, it is basic and you wont talk about it to your grandchildren and its fine for a night or so.
Dont bother with the breakfast its expensive for what it is!
