We have stayed at this hotel before. It has a certain charm despite the exterior and room décor looking more than a little tired now. In reality it needs several £millions spending on it to bring it up to-date. Despite that we do like it and it appears that many other people do to. It seemed busy while we were there.
Breakfast is excellent and the staff polite and friendly.
An impressive building, clean, well staffed and with a comfortable atmosphere. Our room was fine for one night but for a longer stay we would want something bigger. Notice was taken of our requested requirements and the staff as a whole were a credit to the Hotel.
We took our evening meal in the bar and were most impressed.
All in all it was a most enjoyable stay.
Thanks to all involved.
An odd place....like a dorm room of a community college. Stupid sliding bathroom door would not behave. Made reservations WELL in advance and was given the disabled room. Linens nice. Temperature of the room OK. Quiet. Nothing near by to explore. Good pub food at the bar which is located in strange place. Beautiful grounds. Good and large breakfast with variety. Coffee service in the room.
Arrived at the hotel Wednesday evening, staff took cases to the room also arranged a taxi to take us to town that evening and to Ascot the following day. Breakfast fantastic with a wide range of choices. Excellent service from the friendly staff. Would recommend this lovely place to stay.

Hotel was OK it was relatively close to where we wanted to be. Breakfast was little disappointing as you had to order it beforehand, and there wasn't an open buffet. We were a little concerned at what security is on hand at night, as a fight broke out in one of the room rand spilled out into the corridor and there didn't seem to be any hotel staff on hand to sort it out. This argument seemed to go on the best part of early morning and we none of us got any sleep.
Hotel was clean, our bed was too hard and very uncomfortable. No shampoo or shower gel on hand in shower.
