This was trip number 12 and by far my best experience! The food was amazing, the staff made me and my friend feel like Queens. Sergio was the best bartender and the hotel manager Arturo was as professional as they come! I chose this hotel because of its low price and was skeptical because of renovations. We were unbothered by any of it!!! The hotel was immaculate! The rooms were spotless and you could smell the cleanliness. The pool and beach were so relaxing! I can't say enough to how well we were treated! I would recommend this hotel to any one and would return in a heartbeat! Hopefully they don't raise their prices. This hotel is a hidden gem!
I checked into this hotel after staying in a hostel the night before just to experience it. The staff was really friendly and everyone seemed to be in a good mood. Checking in was quick & simple. The only "hidden fees" was a $3 deposit for the remote but you get the option to pay cash when checking out. The lady had explained that there was limited parking on the side of the hotel but that wasn't a big deal because there were plenty of spaces available on the near streets. The room was clean & had a mini fridge, don't expect a microwave though. Its walking distance to the beach with only 2 blocks away, great location! I don't really have any bad experiences here oh except there is no wifi, but even still, I would definitely stay here again based on price and location.

I lived in San Juan for a year so knew what I was doing when I went back. I actually lived in the apartment building right across the street from the InterContinental, and knew it was a great location on the best part of the beach in San Juan. I wasn't disappointed: the stay was fantastic --two girlfriends and I went as a 40th birthday getaway and we have decided to make it an annual event!
A few specifics. First, Expedia screwed up by indicating that this hotel has rollaway beds, which it does NOT. However, Irene, the Front Desk manager, was GREAT about moving us to a room with a larger bed and pull out sofa. I had mentioned that we were coming for a birthday weekend, and we came back to the room on the first night to find a bottle of wine, some chocolates, and small finger foods, along with a lovely birthday note! A super nice touch you don't see very often anymore!
We also discovered that poolside, the InterContinental serves 2-for-1 mojitos ALL DAY. Also, Pedro, who waited on us, was AMAZING. Definitely find him if you are there!
Lastly, I left my passport at the hotel!!! (Too many mojitos.) Gabriel at Security found it, called me the next day, and had it immediately FedExed to me.
Great service, great location -- definitely the place to stay if you come to this lovely island!
