I am a huge fan of Homewood properties. This is the cutest Homewood ever. Very contemporary design; wonderful size room for NYC. The location is central for those using public transit (Penn Station is close) and those exploring tourist attractions. Plenty of affordable eating places nearby. My only complain is that the breakfast here was chaotic! That said, even if food was hard to get to, people watching was great. Quiet rooms, fairly comfy beds, great exercise room (how often do you hear that about a hotel gym?). I recommend enthusiastically.

This hotel was reasonably priced (by NYC standards), was conveniently located and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here the next time I come to NYC and would recommend it to friends. The free wi-fi and continental breakfast were a real plus for me. The only negative for me was that there was a fair amount of noise from outside traffic in the mornings during rush hour, which is unavoidable in NYC. (I was in a second floor room facing Lexington Avenue, so perhaps rooms higher up or on a side street are a bit more quiet). I got some earplugs at a nearby drug store and that took care of that one minor drawback. Other than that, I give this hotel, and particularly the friendly staff, an A+!

The staff could not do enough for us. Very knowledgeable about the area, freely offered advice, gave out mapping of the area with tips how to get to your destination. The room was fantastic nice bathroom and very comfortable bed, surprisingly quite for central NYC. The breakfast was fad, bagels, toast, delicious pancakes freshly made from the machine, fresh fruit, cereals and bacon lovely, scrabbled eggs and a sausage (burger shaped). There was also plenty to drink, juices, herbal teas, coffee, hot chocolate and conventional tea. the tea and coffee was on all day, free, if you fancied a cuppa. The cliental seemed a little bit more up market for a budget hotel, so no idiots, but nice friendly people, including children This was mine and my wifes first ever stay in NYC and to say it was magical was an understatement all helped by a great stay in this hotel. I forgot to add an ok gym down stairs and free Wi-Fi, would highly highly recommend, a big thank you to all the staff who made our stay truly first class.

The room was small with a king bed, but comfortable because it if very close to manhattan chinatown. There was no fridge or microwave, so it limits the room to overnight stay only. That didn't present a problem because that was the purpose of our stay. The breakfast was very good, and there were fruits in the lobby if you had a night time craving.
