"A charming village inn with comfortable and spacious room, amble and tasty traditional breakfast, friendly and welcoming staff & locals, and delicious evening meals. Great value for money too."
"Very nice place to stay and twinned with The County Hotel which is where you have your very good breakfast. Staff were great, rooms modern and clean. My room was hot but that was due to unusually warm summer. Will return again after the Victorian Tap reservation debacle."
"This hotel is in a prime location. It’s very old. But a coat of paint clean grout and bedding that had been ironed would make all the difference
Drink at the bar was very expensive compared to other bars in the town.
Staff were lovely and breakfast wasn’t bad. Although everything had been pre cooked
It could be beautiful if the owner just put in a bit of effort "

"Perfect location for the town centre and Abbey.
Busy outside bar and indoor restaurant, obviously a favourite place with locals
Good selection at breakfast, hot breakfast cooked on demand, which was excellent on Saturday and Sunday, less impressive on Monday.
The bedroom was unbearably hot, the fan was unable to cope, but the hotel could not have mitigated this any more, as the room was in full sun all afternoon. "
"This is lovely hotel on a beautiful location. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is good and reasonably priced. We were in a lovely large room with a die for view of the river and hills"
"Fairly central to surrounding shops & bars. Free parking. Very friendly & helpful. A large, spacious room with plenty of draws & hanging space. The Hotel as a whole was very clean. "
"What a fabulous stay we had, from the warm welcome, immaculately clean rooms and, the food is amazing.
We can't wait to arrange a return visit
Thank you for making our stay perfect.
Xx"
