"The house needs serious maintenance. Things like toilets that keep running, a wall fireplace that doesn't work correctly (which is your main source of heat), a garbage can with a missing wheel that is covered in spider webs (that needs moved to the curb for garbage pickup) are the major things. There are also minor things like paint touch-ups, replacing damaged cooking utensils, throwing away broken decor, and replacing batteries in clocks. We also had an issue during check-in but the owners were helpful in trying to resolve it to the best of their ability. "

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Hands down one of the best places my pals and I stayed at on our annual Monterey trips (and we've been taking this trip for years!)! The house was lovely and well maintained with plenty of beds and seating areas. The kitchen had practically everything we needed (though a pizza cutter would've been helpful) and enough space for a few of us to work on dinner together. The customer service was phenomenal and very prompt whenever I called with a question. We were a little confused by the trash situation and we would've benefitted on a primer for at least when the trash cans needed to go out on the curb before we arrived, but otherwise we figured out the sorting with no issue. All in all, La Casa de Estrella Marie was perfect for my friends and me and we'd love to visit again next year!"

"The space was great for our family to visit! Just know that both bathrooms that are in the house are on suites so it made it a little difficult to host people who needed to go into each other’s rooms to use the restroom. The TV also had issues for us but it was a great entertainment space and plenty of room for everyone. "

"This home was just perfect for our family of 10, and super close to everything we wanted to do in Monterey. The home is very spacious and was super clean. The bedrooms were very spacious with comfortable mattresses and nice linens.Everything in the house looked brand new. The kitchen was a cooks dream. Coffee bar was my favorite. The backyard was perfect even in the rain with the covered patio. Highly recommend. "
