Carmel is about 15 minutes away by car, but if you just want to step outside the hotel and walk to nearby stores or attractions, there aren't any. The facilities and housekeeping were excellent - our only complaint is that the toilet was incredibly low-height - potentially a problem for people with creaky knees."
